Excellent app
2026 April 28: This app is working perfectly for me, in controlling my Onkyo HT–RC360 Receiver from 2011 - using my iPhone 15 with an up to date OS. It controls volume, input changes, and most importantly - can alter treble and bass levels (and subwoofer levels) from my listening position. I have found no other remote that can do that. Invaluable. You can also enter into SETTINGS, and control all parameters, also from the listening position - which also allows control of local and Internet RADIO stations. I know there are negative reviews here, but please believe me that that those problems have been corrected. At least in my case. NOTE: This app works via Wi-Fi … and so it is imperative to use an Ethernet cable to interface your amp with the same router - the same NETWORK - as you use for your phone or tablet.

Bad, Useless
Don’t bother, after many years of no using decided to reinstall, since perhaps original issues resolved, but no, still useless app, still continues to have the ‘Searching for device’ message. For reference have a TX-NR636, so they have had enough time to work on it 😒
Needs updating
Local network access is not working when using a VPN. Switch the VPN off and it works. App has not been updated in years. Another paid app called music control works perfectly

Update NEEDED! Non functional
It is obvious that Onkyo doesn’t care about this app anymore. It’s not functioning for many, but there is NO response from the manufacturer.!
I may not use it everyday, but now I need to use it and it refuses to connect while I am able to log into the web setup from my Mac.
ANY response would be greatly appreciated so that users can make an educated decision whether to stay with the company, or abandon the whole brand and move to something else.

Doesn’t work with ios 18
Was working with ios 17.7. With ios 18 app is stuck in “demo mode” with no way to get out.

Guys please. It’s time for an update.
My review for the receiver itself is an unflappable 4 stars. This app works and so I won’t give it a *bad* review. I can’t fault developers for sticking with a system that works. That said, I would appreciate even just a bit of work to bring this app to modernity. There was a period of time where the app didn’t work at all, and I came to this page to see if maybe there was an update. I guess it was a transient network issue on my end, as it works exactly as it did before. Some lowball QOL improvement would be speeding up some aesthetic transitions and refreshing the graphics. This alone would push the app from being something that “works” to being something perhaps a bit industrial yet minimal and lean.

Depuis cette mise à jour faites il y a 3 ans "remote3" n'a jamais pu fonctionner sur ma mini chaîne CR-N765 contrairement à la version2, l'application cherche et ne trouve jamais ma CR. Et au vu des commentaires très négatifs concernant cette maj Onkyo étonnant que cette société ne s'en soit jamais soucié . Pour la notation par étoile il y aurait eu une étoile 0 je l'aurai mise sans regrets.

Just don’t buy a onkyo
This app is the biggest piece of garbage out there. The app support is the single biggest reason not to get their hundreds if not thousands of dollar receiver systems. They know this app is terrible. They’ve refused to fix or update it. Your receiver has a half-life because of the software used to interface with it

Of all the apps, I hate, I hate this one the worst. It is the slowest to load it’s absolutely garbage. I can’t wait to replace this Onkyo receiver with something else
