Good and helpful tool, but…

Yes, it’s really helpful, but I wish you could do more with the settings. I’m sure is probably very easy to make changes such as locking the octave you’re working on. It’s kinda annoying for example that even when you’re moving clockwise, if u pick a different note it will jump to a higher octave, which messes up your sense of pitch and melodic motion.

Doesn’t work on Apple Watch

I’ve never been able to get this to work on my Apple Watch. No matter the settings, it doesn’t play any sound at all. Hopefully the developers will figure this out and give an update.

Such a cool app

Perfect design. Using this in a singing group. Able to select the pitch easily with haptic feedback (kind of like the old iPod wheels), the octave(s), and even set the hertz (e.g. 432hz instead of the default 440hz). I appreciate being able to select clarinet for the sound playback. Love it!

Update Lock screen Widget plays ok now.

Now for no particular reason the widget works in lock screen and it is much better for me than the pitch wheel. Widget in unlocked screen jumps to pitch wheel every third time. I have iphone 14 pro max ios 17.5.1

Old review:
Widget plays an A when C selected. No real people support for unexpected failures. After a trial of one hour no other problems found.

Widget is gone

Since the redesign the home screen widget options are gone. There is a lock screen widget, but it’s essentially just a shortcut to open the app. I wouldn’t have updated if I had realized this feature was going to be removed.

Response from developer

Hello, thanks for letting me know about this. That widget hasn't been intentionally removed and is still appearing on my test devices—would you mind contacting me directly at forScore.co/form so I can troubleshoot this issue further with you? Thanks in advance.

Doesn’t work on my iPhone 14 pro running iOS 16

Anyone who pays money for this app is a fool. Pitch please ran fine when I tried it immediately after buying it, but after I closed it and opened it again, I doesn’t make any sound. Please help!

Extra functions needed

Works fine for me but a setting to change the duration of the note would be helpful, currently it’s a bit too long. Also I can only see an option to change the instrument on the phone app, not on the watch app.

Pitch

Sometimes I have to switch off my phone as it will not work, then switch on again

Works about 5% of the time.

No matter what settings I have, volume up, mute switch off/on, DND, whatever - the pitch app rarely plays. It’s the only thing it does and the only reason I bought it and it doesn’t work. ForScore lost their pitch widget so I can’t use anything now.

Doesn’t work

Apple Watch app closes every time I try to use it. Could I have my 99 cents back please?

Doesn’t work — at all

No sound is produced. I can get sound from other apps just fine but nothing plays from this. The watch app produces sound but has no way to control volume so if you’re trying to discreetly get a pitch from your wrist it’s not at all discreet.

Where is the widget?

Based on past reviews, I just purchased this app specifically for the availability of a widget.

Edited: It is a bit confusing because of the iOS 14 update, but I was eventually able to get the widget on my phone. I’m not sure how I did it, but it’s there now and I love the app! Maybe something could be included somewhere about how to get the widget?

Response from developer

Please contact me directly at forScore.co/kb so I can help you access the widget. Apple changed how this works with iOS 14 and moved things around, but it's definitely still there!

Tuning

I’ve used this app for years and I love it, but I literally just noticed that the pitches are significantly flat when compared to a piano. I don’t know if it’s always been this way or it’s due to a recent update, but either way I can’t use this in my singing group of it’s not tuned closer to A 440. This is very disappointing and I hope you guys fix it!!!

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback—the tuning of the pitch pipe is adjustable, so please check that you haven't unintentionally changed that setting (tap the gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner). If it's set to 440 and you're still noticing issues, please reach out to me directly at forScore.co/support so we can figure out what's going on. Thanks again!

Useful

Unlike a tuning fork it doesn’t bruise your knee.

Widget

Love this app, but since the iOS 13 update, the widget sometimes does not work, regardless of whether or not the phone is in silent mode.

Continuous tone?

Nice simple app, would be nice to be able to adjust the duration of the tone, and/or have it play until manually stopped.

Not reliable!

I needed it and it would not give a pitch. Bummed!

Response from developer

Hi, please contact me directly using the form at forscore.co/support so we can troubleshoot this issue further. This isn't a bug I've ever heard of before so it may be something simple or it might be specific to your version of iOS. Whatever's going on, I'll do everything I can to get it resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks for your support, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Meter please

It needs a digital meter to know when you hit the note.

Response from developer

Hello, that's not the purpose of this app and I'm sorry if our app's description or screenshots were misleading in any way. If it's not what you wanted, please request a refund from Apple (they handle transactions directly so there's nothing we can do on our end). Thanks!

Puhlease get this app

It works perfectly. It’s super easy. I probably would have bought it just for the name, which is awesome. It’s just like a pitch pipe in that you just rotate the dial or Digital Crown to access pitches...but doesn’t get gross or germy, not does it get out of tune. I’m a voice teacher and active choral musician.

The best pitch pipe app available

This is by far and away the best pitch pipe app out there. The interface is clean and intuitive, and I like how I can choose three different octaves. Also, this app still sounds when your phone is in silent mode, which I noticed is not the case with other apps. Your search is over—this is the pitch pipe app you need!
