I am you, with a library I started in high school in 1998! It's survived CD-R's, iPods, optical drive crashes, being segmented across "Zip drives" (remember those!), curated on various websites and applications of which I shall name no name, and now, all my files are secure in the cloud... and I needed a better way to listen to them, to leverage all that time I spent properly tagging my files, and that is why I built Oort! A Dropbox or Microsoft account is required to access music stored with those respective services. Availability of metadata and artwork depends on the source files and available matching information. I do offer a guide and best practices in the settings to help you get the most out of your music, not just with Oort, but with any music application.
