Disappointed and frustrated

I initially enjoyed this game and invested time creating a team, writing reports, and following the season.

However, I ran into several issues that made the experience frustrating:
• Pitcher fatigue did not behave as expected (pitchers stayed at very low rest or did not recover properly)
• AI management did not follow pitch count settings
• A starting pitcher was left in for over 12 innings, which is unrealistic
• The interface for making substitutions is unclear and difficult to use during gameplay

Because of this, it became difficult to trust the game’s logic or feel in control as a manager.

There is a good concept here, but the execution—especially around fatigue, AI decisions, and usability—needs improvement.

Frustrated but hopefull

I bought this game with the idea that I could recreate my old draft team I had in 1980s. I’ve tried setting this up, but it won’t let me draft for each team. so I tried to draft a normal way only to find you can’t force trades. However it is a well written game and filled with opportunities. I just have to find another way to enjoy it and I am working on that.

Great game

Love everything about this game from the graphics to the accuracy of the stats. A wonderful and addictive and affordable sports simulation.

Same great game

Same great game as the previous version

Really good 4.5

Like it a lot go Cardinals

The best sim available

Easy 5 stars. I skipped last year due to issues I had with the year prior; those have been pretty much all rectified and it’s otherwise just the PC release slightly refined for mobile. Can’t justify not giving it 5 tbh.

That being said, devs, am I stupid or is there no way to access the top 100 prospects report from anywhere besides the occasional email updates you get? It says you can view the full report from the reports menu but for the life of me I have no idea where that is in this. I know you can get to it from the email but I hate leaving a random email from the beginning of the season in my box just to see where everybody else is at through the season.

One major problem

For the most part, this app is great, and a faithful and in-depth adaptation of the desktop version. I have played many hours on my phone and it functions and well and I love it. However, I do have one major bone to pick with it - playoff rosters. When you play through the season and get to the playoffs, it will tell you to set your playoff roster, but there isn't actually a playoff roster option anywhere. The only thing you can do is demote players to the minors, but if they are out of options, you can't, so you have to release them if you don't want them on the roster. This is NOT how the rosters are supposed to function, and based on the prompts the game gives you regarding your playoff roster, I don't think the devs intended it to work this way. Please, PLEASE add an actual playoff and reserve roster function so I can give my team the best chance possible in the playoffs. Then this game will be almost perfect.

I'd also really like to someday see the coaching system implemented into the mobile game. I know this can't be a perfect 1 to 1 copy of the full game, but I'd love to be able to have a coaching staff!

To many bugs - AI keeps adding to many players to my roster and it want let me move on.

Played game for many years, never been this bad. Can’t even get a return email.

It’s 90% as good as OG OOTP, and that makes it twice as good as any other iOS baseball sim out there

I think the only beef is they don’t have some sort of “God/Commissioner Mode”. I like to play my dynasty fantasy baseball roster against “real” MLB teams, and even with the Trade slider and financials on “Easy Peasy” I cannot get both Ohtani and Judge on my roster.

Best iOS baseball experience BY FAR. Don’t know quite why it’s such a hard sport to nail on a phone game, but OOTP does

Poor edition

I’ve played several versions of OOTP and this is the worst. Earlier editions of go seemed more realistic in sim and less buggy. This game has poor playability. Not worth $10. Even worse you can’t go back and download earlier editions.

Best baseball simulation game

This is the best on the market!

Love it

Obviously not a 1:1 copy of the desktop version but still very enjoyable for a mobile version. To those worried about the bugs they have been fixed and the dev team is very receptive on their forum page. There are few features I wish would be added but other than that it’s a great game. Probably the most in depth sports simulator ever made and the price is totally worth it. If you’re a baseball fan that likes managing franchises it’s a must have game.

Edit: I wrote my initial review a little over a month ago and I wanted to address some the negative reviews. A lot of the complaints can be easily solved by adjusting the league settings. Once in the league settings you can go to advanced settings and change different aspects of league further. I only play franchise mode so I can’t speak for the complaints a bout the Perfect Team mode. I’m not a huge fan of buying a game then playing a mode with micro transactions so I only play franchise mode. As for people worried about the game crashing I would say make sure you set the save settings to ‘dynamic’ instead of ‘manual’ and the game will save frequently by itself. This game was originally designed to be run on a pc and they made a mobile version for it. With that being said the game honestly doesn’t crash often. I play it quite frequently and sometimes longer than I should lol but I can count on one hand how many times the game has crashed. I feel other people either don’t have the patience to learn everything about the game or they just just the type to leave a bad review at the slightest inconvenience. I’ve played this game for years on both pc and my iPhone and probably will continue to. Expect a slight learning curve when it comes to how far you can customize the rules for your league and control player development etc. I honestly haven’t played a game that gives you so much control over a franchise and the league. If you truly enjoy managing a team then you’d be hard pressed to find a better game than this one.

I want to love this game but ….

Perfect team is fun and haven’t had any issues. Playing franchise is a different story. Crash city. Whenever I try to save the game , it crashes . I’m using the mobile go version . I paid money for this too , it is unplayable .

Great game

I’ve played OOTP for a close to a decade, starting with the IOS version. Very cool to see the games’ growth and commitment to updating their format to be as realistic and customizable as possible

Not worth it

Just paid $9.99 for this app and it keeps crashing can’t get thru off-season it crash’s then I gotta start back where I was then it crashes again so not worth the price

Amazing Game, PT Mobile Flawless

The most epic way to manage your perfect team rosters on the go! 10/10

Just the best

Amazing game

Great Adaptation

Don't let the negative reviews deter you from the mobile version. If you're an avid OOTP Baseball player on desktop, they did a great job adapting it to the mobile medium.

Great game

It’s a fun game but it keeps crashing. I started in this offseason and once I get to signing international free agents, it crashes.

Game crashes constantly

I love OOTP but twice now after drafting my team and beginning to set my rotation/lineups the game crashed and lost all data. If they fix the bugs I’ll fix my review, but unplayable as of now.
