Disappointed and frustrated
However, I ran into several issues that made the experience frustrating:
• Pitcher fatigue did not behave as expected (pitchers stayed at very low rest or did not recover properly)
• AI management did not follow pitch count settings
• A starting pitcher was left in for over 12 innings, which is unrealistic
• The interface for making substitutions is unclear and difficult to use during gameplay
Because of this, it became difficult to trust the game’s logic or feel in control as a manager.
There is a good concept here, but the execution—especially around fatigue, AI decisions, and usability—needs improvement.
Frustrated but hopefull
Great game
Same great game
Really good 4.5
The best sim available
That being said, devs, am I stupid or is there no way to access the top 100 prospects report from anywhere besides the occasional email updates you get? It says you can view the full report from the reports menu but for the life of me I have no idea where that is in this. I know you can get to it from the email but I hate leaving a random email from the beginning of the season in my box just to see where everybody else is at through the season.
One major problem
I'd also really like to someday see the coaching system implemented into the mobile game. I know this can't be a perfect 1 to 1 copy of the full game, but I'd love to be able to have a coaching staff!
To many bugs - AI keeps adding to many players to my roster and it want let me move on.
It’s 90% as good as OG OOTP, and that makes it twice as good as any other iOS baseball sim out there
Best iOS baseball experience BY FAR. Don’t know quite why it’s such a hard sport to nail on a phone game, but OOTP does
Poor edition
Best baseball simulation game
Love it
Edit: I wrote my initial review a little over a month ago and I wanted to address some the negative reviews. A lot of the complaints can be easily solved by adjusting the league settings. Once in the league settings you can go to advanced settings and change different aspects of league further. I only play franchise mode so I can’t speak for the complaints a bout the Perfect Team mode. I’m not a huge fan of buying a game then playing a mode with micro transactions so I only play franchise mode. As for people worried about the game crashing I would say make sure you set the save settings to ‘dynamic’ instead of ‘manual’ and the game will save frequently by itself. This game was originally designed to be run on a pc and they made a mobile version for it. With that being said the game honestly doesn’t crash often. I play it quite frequently and sometimes longer than I should lol but I can count on one hand how many times the game has crashed. I feel other people either don’t have the patience to learn everything about the game or they just just the type to leave a bad review at the slightest inconvenience. I’ve played this game for years on both pc and my iPhone and probably will continue to. Expect a slight learning curve when it comes to how far you can customize the rules for your league and control player development etc. I honestly haven’t played a game that gives you so much control over a franchise and the league. If you truly enjoy managing a team then you’d be hard pressed to find a better game than this one.
