Perfect Extension
As someone who doesn’t have accounts on Instagram and TikTok but has many friends who do, this is SO HELPFUL! So GENUIS. I can’t praise it enough for just doing exactly what it’s made to do.
It is such an annoying and honestly quite invasive/hostile for these tech companies to force you to not only download but also make an account on their platform to view any content. It is otherwise accessible on web computer browsers, but because I’m using a mobile device they’ve made it so unbearable and impossible to view anything on Safari.
This app changes that and I tip my hat to them. Thank you so much.
The developer is also quite responsive to issues users may have which is a huge plus! I had issues with Instagram reels not loading. With time and some exchanges between the developer and I, he fixed the issue no problem. Even offered a refund if the problem was taking too long to resolve. I chose to wait.

Awesome Utility
This app made it easier to lower my screen time on TikTok and Instagram, while still being able to see the clips people send me. Great work!

As title said- video didn’t play and the pop up to open the App Store still happened. I’d love to try again if this updates mabye it work then.

I was sent here from a Reddit comment and then decided to download it after reading the review from the other person who discovered this from Reddit. Also went out of my way to write an app review for the first time after more than a decade of downloading apps, just because that other review is was so helpful for me. It was the deciding factor in downloading this app.

I've reviewed the troubleshooting several times and it just does not work. Pointless.

When it worked it was great! It has stopped working and i’ve been doing all the workarounds and nothing is working.

Thank you so much Kyle! I read a post from you on Reddit recently from about 10 months ago and thought I'd try it. I really appreciate the fact that it works flawlessly with the voiceover screen reader and loved the verify that it's working button because I had to tweak The allow versus ask options in the Safari setting. This is awesome! I can now listen to tutorials that I was shut out from without TikTok. you're a rockstar! definitely think about adding that tip/donation button ❤️👍

A must!
It’s been beyond frustrating not being able to watch TikTok’s in browser at all anymore (every time the site redirects me to the App Store, I want to scream). But that’s all in the past now, because this Safari extension works great! Truly so needed nowadays for those like me who don’t want the TikTok app but would still like to watch the odd video sent by friends & family, look something up on the platform, etc. To the developer: You rock, thank you! :)

Works Great! No user input required after setup(:
I used to use a shortcut to perform the basic function this extension provides. However, this other method required a couple seconds of extra taps to execute. With this extension, after two seconds of setup, that is no longer required. It is now streamlined and simpler to watch when one is shared with me. Plus this extension that the added advanced function of removing extra elements and the many hidden links to the App Store on anything to tap on, which would accidentally happen in the past and I no longer have to deal with. Great job dev! You’re good at this, continue creating!

Great QOL and Security tool!
This seems to hit dual sweet spots for me: it allows TikTok videos to play natively in the browser, and it keeps me safe from the CCP-related TikTok app.

Hi! It is true that no data is collected and the code is open source (https://github.com/kylejohnsonkj/OpenTok) to prove it. The prompt you see when allowing it is required for any safari extension. In this case, it allows OpenTok to run JavaScript that redirects the page so the video can play and apply CSS rules to hide distracting elements.

This extension works like a charm! I don’t use social media and I don’t trust TikTok so I refuse to make an account. But I don’t want to live under a rock either, so when my friends send me TikTok videos they like, I will go through the hassle of copying the link and erasing the part after the “?” symbol so I can play it. Now that I have the is extension I can watch the content they shared more easily and avoid having a TikTok account. Big thank you to the developer for making this simple, free, account free and ad free!

Exactly what I needed
Make sure to always allow for tiktok but not all sites. Developer is extremely helpful and responsive to support requests. Now I don't have to install tiktok, yay!

Enabling the plugin still does not allow videos to be watched and instead takes to TikTok app download link in App Store

Hi! After following the "Verify setup" link in app, can you ensure "tiktok.com = Allow" and "Other Websites = Ask"? Other Websites cannot be allowed otherwise it won't work. After changing that, navigate to a tiktok in Safari (Try it now! link), tap OpenTok in the menu, and tap through the alerts to "always allow on this website".
