A new style of dating apps
OpenHand is genuinely one of the most refreshing dating apps I’ve used. The fact that there’s no swiping completely changes the experience. Instead of judging people in a split second based on a couple of pictures, you take a personality test and OpenHand actually matches you with people whose traits complement your own.
It feels much more intentional than the typical dating app. You’re not endlessly scrolling through hundreds of profiles hoping someone catches your attention—you’re being introduced to people where there’s already a reason to believe your personalities could work well together.
I also really like that it puts more emphasis on compatibility, personality, and actually getting to know someone instead of turning dating into a numbers game. It feels like the app was designed for people who genuinely want to make a meaningful connection.
If you’re burned out on the endless swipe-left, swipe-right routine and want something that approaches online dating differently, I highly recommend giving OpenHand a shot. It’s a really cool concept, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
