About

OpenSermon makes sermons searchable, accessible and preserved. Every week, pastors share teaching meant to guide and shape the lives of their congregations. Once a sermon ends, it is surprisingly hard to revisit an idea, find the passage it turned on, or hear what your church has said about a topic over the years. OpenSermon changes that. FIND THE CHURCHES AROUND YOU Use your location to map every congregation in the archive near you, or search the directory by name, city or denomination. Follow the ones you care about. SEARCH INSIDE THE SERMON Search runs across the full text of the transcripts, not just titles and dates, so you can find a sermon by a phrase you remember from it. Results show you the matching passage in context. READ WHAT WAS PREACHED Every analysed sermon carries a full transcript, the scripture it rests on, the themes it develops and the people and events it mentions. Follow along as the audio plays, or jump straight to any line. LISTEN WITH THE SCREEN OFF Background playback with lock-screen and Control Center controls. Your place is kept between sessions, so a sermon you started on the drive home is where you left it. KNOW WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING NEW Get a notification when a church you follow has a newly analyzed sermon. Choose per church what you hear about, or nothing at all. SEE WHAT A CHURCH TEACHES Church pages trace years of preaching by theme, so you can see how a congregation has taught on a subject over time rather than one Sunday at a time. OpenSermon preserves sermons as part of the living history of the church, and keeps them available to congregations, church leaders, researchers and the public. An account is required, and is free.
