What's New in OpenShelf
1.1.2
September 27, 2026
OpenShelf 1.1.2 adds a built-in EPUB reader and new ways to find books by tag. READ IN OPENSHELF • Open DRM-free, reflowable EPUBs directly inside OpenShelf. • Choose OpenShelf as your default reader, or use Other App to open Apple’s app picker. • Resume your saved passage, add bookmarks, search within a book, and navigate its contents and internal links. • Choose responsive page swipes or continuous scrolling, with chapter, page and completion information. • Personalize reading with six page palettes, System/Light/Dark appearance, additional fonts and text-size controls. • Adjust brightness across the display from within the reader. • Customize line, letter and word spacing, margins and optional text justification. Text updates immediately as you adjust the controls, with Reset and Undo for layout changes. • Read locally available books offline. Positions and bookmarks are saved on this device; reading status remains under your control. FIND BOOKS BY TAG • Open Tags in Browse to see personal tags, book counts and matching books. • Library search now includes personal tags alongside other searchable book details. • Existing tags are available automatically. Personal tags and genres remain separate, and Browse and Search preserve their own navigation on iPhone and iPad. OpenShelf on iPhone and iPad remains a companion to your Mac library. Publish your library and book files from OpenShelf on Mac using private iCloud to make them available on your mobile devices.
