About
Every word of the opera, in your language, as it is sung.
Choose an opera. Choose an aria, a duet, a chorus — or begin with the overture. Opera Moments plays a great recording and shows each line in your language at the moment it is sung. No libretto on your lap, no guessing which line is which. Just the music, and what it means.
IN THE HOUSE
• Carmen — Georges Bizet, 1875. Sung in French. 48 tracks.
• The Magic Flute — Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1791. Sung in German. 52 tracks.
The arias, the ensembles and the spoken dialogue.
FREE TO TRY
The app is free. Every track has a 30-second preview with the words on the stage, so you can try any moment first. Each opera is bought once, inside the app, and comes with its programme: the story act by act, what to listen for, and the set and costume designs.
TIMED BY HAND
Every line was timed by ear, one at a time, so the words arrive with the voice, not after it.
AN EVENING AT THE OPERA
• Overtures play to a closed curtain, with what to listen for.
• The curtain parts as each track begins.
• Turn the phone sideways for a larger stage.
• Choose a larger text size right on the stage.
• Choose your theatre: Romantic velvet, Baroque candlelight or Modern wood.
IN EIGHT LANGUAGES
English, Español, Italiano, Français, Deutsch, 中文, 日本語, 한국어.
HOW TO LISTEN
The words and their timing are what you buy; the music itself plays through Apple Music. With an Apple Music subscription, every track plays. Without one, you can play the tracks you own, or buy a single track or the whole album from the iTunes Store — the app shows you how, with the price.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Opera Moments collects nothing. No account, no tracking, no ads. Purchases go through Apple.
COMING SOON
Nabucco, Turandot, The Marriage of Figaro — and the rest of the most-performed operas, one by one.
