Classic Bait and Switch: Avoid!
I joined during an 'Early Access' promotion that was explicitly advertised as a 'Lifetime' offer. Once the promotion ended, my account was downgraded to a free tier. When I contacted support, the developer admitted the wording was 'unclear' but refused to honor the lifetime status, claiming that 'Lifetime' only meant keeping access to my saved data, not the premium features.
In the app industry, 'Lifetime' has a clear meaning, and using it as bait only to redefine it later is deceptive. It’s a shame to see a promising app ruin its reputation so early by not standing behind its own marketing.
If you’re looking for a developer who honors their commitments to early supporters, look elsewhere. Great tool, but very disappointing ethics.
Response from developer
Thanks for the kind words about the app, and I’m sorry the Early Access terms weren’t clearer to you. To clarify for anyone reading: Early Access was a free trial period of Orbb’s premium features, not a permanent grant of them. What was permanent and what we’ve honored for every Early Access user is your account and everything you saved during it. Nothing was removed, locked, or deleted; the account moved to the free tier when the promotional period ended, exactly as intended. If you’d like to keep using premium, email me at support@orbb.app and I’ll sort out a discount for early supporters. — Raj
