About
Orbit Canvas is a widget that displays the current positions of celestial bodies in the solar system. It plots the locations of the eight planets (from Mercury to Neptune) and the Moon based on astronomical calculations for the specific date and time.
You can also view planetary alignments from the past or future.
Key Features:
・Real-time positioning of the eight planets and the Moon
・Customizable date selection (past/future)
・Three viewing angles: Top-down, Standard, and Acute
・Toggle display for orbital paths and planet names
・High-speed orbital animation
・Support for multiple widget sizes
Solar and Lunar Clock Widgets
・Two design styles and seven color options
Planetary directions, orbital planes, and lunar positions are based on astronomical calculations. To ensure visibility within the compact widget space, the sizes of the planets, their distances from the Sun, and the Earth-Moon distance have been stylized (scaled non-linearly).
Astronomical calculations utilize the "Astronomy Engine for C/C++" by Don Cross. The Astronomy Engine is provided under the MIT License.
