I have CRPS and also use the Recognise app as a complementary part of my Graded Imagery therapy. I like this app in that it gives immediate feedback (green check mark if correct response; red x if incorrect) for each of the 25 pictures in that session, while Recognise only provides the correct/incorrect response numbers at the end of the session. Unfortunately, this app has numerous problems. The most major issue for me is in the reporting of your average over the last 10 sessions. For example, it frequently gives me stats such as that my AVERAGE was 31 correct in 18 seconds (when there are only 25 photos in a session the AVERAGE can’t be 31 correct) or it will give stats such as the average being 24 correct in 106 seconds, which is an impossible AVERAGE when NONE of the sessions took longer than 19 seconds for me to complete. My therapist sets goals for me (for example: being able to consistently get 23 correct in 20 seconds or less) so the app providing incorrect (actually mathematically impossible) stats makes it challenging because I have to click on “view previous results” to get all of the raw data and calculate the averages myself. I can do that, and I do, but it’s time I have to waste in order to monitor my progress and know whether or not I’m meeting my goals when, in theory, the app is supposed to monitor and provide that information for you. The concept is good and the app has been beneficial but the gathering and reporting of information is severely lacking. Gathering, monitoring, and reporting capabilities need to be updated in a COMPLETE OVERHAUL, and if that is addressed I’d give the app at least 4 stars.
