Much-needed resource, needs polishing

This is an excellent and a required resource for mental health emergencies.

I would only recommend that

1. the map links in the Resources tab have an option to be opened with Google Maps.

2. Also, it would be great to have one map with all these addresses, the ER rooms in particular, which would make it easier to see which resource is closest.

3. I would also welcome a section of addressing a suicidal person on the spot, as calling 911 is not always an option. There are different situations involving not just loved ones, but neighbors, acquaintances, and roommates. If a person could be helped without involving authorities, every such effort should be made, such as staying with the person, removing alcohol and drugs, and bringing food and water/soft drinks.

4. It would be great to describe in more detail what each option entails. For example, does summoning 911 cost money? Some may refuse help because they’re afraid of getting hit with a large bill. What is the most discrete option?

Thank you!

I’m in a new relationship with a partner diagnosed with major depressive disorder, bipolar and schizoaffective disorder. While I do not live in the San Diego area, the wealth of information provided in this app has given me guidance to better understand my loved one’s diagnoses, how we can prepare for crisis situations, suggestions on how I can best communicate with and support him, and the importance of my own education and self-care. Thank you so much for providing this resource.
