There are well over 6000 languages in the world, divided into more than 150 language families. In this app you will become familiar with several Germanic and Latin languages, as well as Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Swahili, Finnish and North Sami. If you want to get to know other minority languages in the Nordic region, several of these can be found in the three apps Get to know the Sami languages - (https://www.blikjentmedsamisk.no), Kieli - (https://www.kieli.no) and Nordic languages - (https://www.kieli.no/nordic). The apps show how words and simple sentences are written and pronounced. Words and sentences have been chosen to show basic grammar. Showing many examples of basic grammar increases curiosity and it is easier to ask specific questions, something that is very helpful when learning languages. Start with a few words and simple sentences. Look for familiar patterns and notice what is different. Under the category All, you can see words and sentences together for all languages. By tapping on a word, you get to a dictionary for the individual language.
