Limited options

I would like to recommend to the developer to add more options just like when you using the computer because am paying high subscription and sometimes still need to go shop for full scan from various components like transmission now its only focusing the def system and couple other areas not even the whole thing please update with more useful options.

Not reliable

I don’t recommend it to solve problems because you still have to go to see a mechanic and he uses his own tools. But you can delete old codes that doesn’t really help because they are already inactive.

Too expensive

There’s so many other truck diagnostic options nowadays on Amazon etc that the high price is no longer justified for this market. The Ai option is mediocre, it’s better to plug in those codes into other Ai models and often get a better explanation.

Updates bring too many problems

App constantly disconnects from device, can no longer clear generic codes ( like the whole command option disappeared), and forced regen is no longer consistent. Also when you are trying to find out about the codes you have the AI assistant will not work it’s very inconsistent. When it does work it asks you to do things so it can help further diagnose the issue but the things it asks you to do you don’t even have the option to in the app. 6.7 isb Cummins engine International truck. This app use to work but it seems like the update messed some things up and I don’t know if they are trying to fix it

Not working properly

Used to be great. But after updates it started working bad. First was a problem that there were only Cumins reset button and generic button disappear, and it happened in worst convenience possible, when i need to reset generic codes. Now there is generic code reset button but no Cumins reset button, especially when i need it. Starting to have a feeling that is not worth $600 per as it doesn’t work when you need it. Developers need to do something about asap, i am almost ready to give up on it. Support just keep sending me new devices, but nothing helps. Sometimes it’s working, sometimes it doesn’t. I paid another year subscription and it’s not working as it should

FAQ

What does OTR Diagnostics do?

OTR Diagnostics is a heavy-duty truck scan tool that helps owners and fleets diagnose and resolve issues like fault codes, regen problems, and unexpected derates. It provides plain-language explanations of fault codes, allows for bi-directional commands to fix common problems, and monitors live truck data in real-time.

What are the key features of OTR Diagnostics?

Key features include AI-powered fault code insights that break down complex codes into understandable terms, bi-directional commands to reset fault codes, aftertreatment systems, derates, and soot levels, and the ability to run forced DPF or SCR regens directly from the cab. It also offers live data monitoring for critical engine parameters.

How much does OTR Diagnostics cost?

The application itself is free to download. However, to utilize its full diagnostic capabilities, it requires a proprietary Bluetooth adapter called OTR LINK 2. The description mentions a potential FREE upgrade for the adapter, suggesting that the primary cost is associated with the hardware.

What heavy-duty truck engines does OTR Diagnostics support?

OTR Diagnostics supports a wide range of heavy-duty engines from major manufacturers including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Paccar, Volvo, and Mack. Specific engine models and year ranges are listed, covering engines from approximately 2008 to 2024.

How can OTR Diagnostics help me avoid expensive dealer visits?

By providing detailed, plain-language explanations of fault codes and offering bi-directional commands to resolve common issues, the app empowers truck owners to troubleshoot and fix problems themselves. This can prevent minor issues from escalating and reduce the need for costly trips to a dealership for routine diagnostics and repairs.
