We switched to otsimo from another aac app and the experience is honestly better. The voice is very clear and my son actually prefers it.

The verb conjugations feature is something I didn't expect to appreciate so much. My daughter can say "I wanted" or "I will go" instead of just single words. It makes her communication feel so much more natural

I'm autistic and I use this app on high-anxiety days when speaking is hard. I was worried it might be just for kids but it's NOT. Thank you Otsimo!
No lifetime option, no way to explore without signing in
The permissions are lengthy but I really wanted to test out this app to see how it compared to other AAC apps, so I signed in through Apple, even though I do not like signing in just to use an app. After picking the size grid I wanted to try out, it immediately prompted me to sign up for a 3 or 7 day trial, and would not allow me to proceed in the app. So there is no way to actually test out the app, without signing up for something first. No lifetime option is also a problem- if I were able to test out the app and liked it, I would only purchase it as a pay-once, lifetime option. Also, there should be a way to explore at least the basics of this communication app without signing up for yet another trial that turns in to a subscription if you don’t cancel in time.

I use this with some of my clients and they love it and use it at home as well. The user friendly interface, extensive symbol library, and customizable features is a great help with communication

App doesn’t work at all
I previously used the app successfully now it does not load past the first screen, despite uninstalling and reinstalling. The app support is not helpful, as the wait time for response is horrible. I want a refund of my subscription paid.

It is free to download and install, but you literally cant do anything except choose grid size before you have to pay. there are better, free programs.

I’ve sent a lot of emails to try to have a couple questions answered but the help is just a bot. I love the app but I want to know if I can lock the home screen so the kids can’t get into the editing mode and I need to know if the customization transfers from one device to the other because when I installed it on another device, it only brought over a couple pictures and then I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it didn’t bring over anything.

Wonderful and functions as designed and intended
I don’t have any criticisms about the app itself, I just wish there was an option for a lifetime purchase or free option. There are so many subscriptions or services kept behind paywalls and I’d love for this to be ownable. Unless I missed there being a way to own this app. That’s all though, nothing else but a glowing commendation.

Best AAC in the market 🙌
My kiddo is 4 years old and doesn't quite talk yet, but this app has been a game-changer for us. It lets them communicate with me by tapping on pictures and symbols, and it even speaks what they "say" out loud. There's a bunch of stuff already loaded in the app, but I can also add my own pictures and words which is super helpful. It's been amazing to see my kid finally able to express themselves, and I love that the app is free to try! Highly recommend!

we tried other aac apps with our daughter, but she likes otsimo aac best. it was easy for her to learn and get used to creating sentences and tell us how she feels and what she wants.
