OTTISS Live

OTTISS Live is the field operations platform for railroads and the contractors working on their property. Crews view current rule books, general notices, general orders, daily operating bulletins, and timetables from one place, always at the current revision. The Field view shows a live map of who is on the property, where they are, and when they last checked in. Briefings are filed from inside iMessage. A roadway worker picks Individual Train Detection, Lone Worker, Train Approach Warning, or Job Briefing, fills in the form his own organization publishes, and sends it to the people he is working with. Anyone in the conversation with an OTTISS Live account can review and approve it — including someone at another company, which is how flagging work is actually done. A briefing that carries a clear-by time starts a clock when it is approved. Both the worker and the approver get a countdown on the Lock Screen, and the worker can report clear from there without unlocking. Five minutes out he is reminded. If the time passes and nobody has reported clear, the approver is alerted with the worker's last known position, and it keeps escalating until somebody acts. Running late is not a failure: the clear-by can be extended, and the extension is recorded and shown to the approver. Everything is retained for audit — who filed it, who approved it, when the clock started, when it was reported clear, and where from.
