This app is trash
Constantly logs you out. Forces log in with a code to your email repeatedly. Managed to eventually get my device added but the firmware update fails repeatedly. Seems to get stuck between the fake device wifi and cellular and just fails.
Never works
It asks me to connect to carplay device wifi which I do and i need to to keep my phone data on, but its still not able to do a firmware update it keeps getting wifi connectivity error
Doesn’t connect with ottocast
Doesn’t connect to ottocast device when selecting Bluetooth for screen mirroring
Internal error
Purchased this downloaded app went onto sign up screen entered my email address clicked send link and that’s all that happens is an error code saying internal error so cant use it NOT A GREAT START
No qr code on item
Seems like the only way you can connect a device to the application is through QR code. The only QR codes that are included on or in this package our QR codes to find the application I literally cannot add my ottoaibox p3 to the app. That also means once that first free month of DATA is gone I'm not buying any anymore

Doesn’t work
Followed the instructions multiple times and ever worked was not able to install the update
Initial Setup & Use
Date: 9/2/2026
HW: iPhone 13
Version: iOS 18.6.2
I was able to quickly confirm my Ottocast’s U2-AIR’s firmware was up-to-date.
I used the app’s initial setup guide. First, I connected the U2-AIR to my 2019 Ford Edge’s CarPlay/Android Auto USB port, then I powered my car on. My phone automatically connected to the device’s WiFi (since I did this to confirm the firmware was up-to-date). I then opened my iPhone’s Bluetooth settings to connect to the U2-AIR successfully. I am now connected to both the WiFi and Bluetooth from my iPhone. My CarPlay screen is showing fine and I’m completely wire free!
Everything works like usual with the exception of a slight delay (~2 seconds). I turn off my car after testing and the USB port stops powering the U2-AIR and then my iPhone is no longer connected to the device’s WiFi/Bluetooth network (~30 seconds).
I’m happy with this but it was my initial use of the device. I’ll update this review if this still becomes problematic.

Connection
It does need to be connected via Bluetooth & Wi-Fi!
If not, you’re going to get a blank screen.

Works as expected
Downloaded the app, made an account, connected to my ottocast mini, checked the firmware update and other stuff. Everything works as expected.
Useless junkware
Pointless useless junk wear
Server is down error
This is one of the worst apps I’ve used. The formatting of the text on some of the screens is off. Most of the functions result in a server not found error. I could probably do without this app, but the CarPlay adapter itself is also verydifficult to use. The documentation is horrendous.
Ottocast
Save your money. Wont connect to my 2025 Kia. They suggest setting your car back to factory settings and setting your phone back to factory settings. No thank you. Received it today and returning it today
Useless
Totally useless. Cannot update, cannot delete old phones. Don’t waste your time with this app.
Unable to add my u2 air pro
After updating to the new app, I am unable to connect my U2 Air Pro, the app asks to scan the QR code, there is no QR code, just a bar code. There is no manual way to add my device. After the app updated it should have e kept my device details it did not. Please fix this so that I can use the app. Then I will change my rating.

Trash Nate
This thing is a joke. Don't waste your money
Useless app, will not accept code
To use this app you have to scan a QR code of your device.
There are 2 QR codes, 1 on the box and 1 on the instructions. Neither are accepted when using the apps QR code camera.
Then there is the barcode on the device, again it’s not accepted.
What QR code am I expected to scan!

Junk
Regrets
Sort of works BUT good luck figuring it out. I can’t get it to turn off when the car is parked and turned off, for example. App is a disaster with absolutely no rhyme or reason. Wish I could return this product…
Absolute GARBAGE
First, I had the prior version of the Ottocast U2 Air adapter. Never worked right. Then I bought +TWO+ ( I must be a friggin’ idiot!) of the new U2 Air Pro adapters, in the hope that it’d be better. One was dead out of the box. The next one was seriously problematic. At Ottocast’s instruction, I downloaded this lousy app. It promptly proceeded to BRICK the adapter. Great.
I would advise steering clear of +any product+ or software from this joke of a company.

Bricked my device
After installing iOS 17 I needed to pair every time I got in my car. Contacted support which told me to download this app.
I did. Started the firmware update which failed and bricked my air2.
