Our Pasifika

Our Pasifika is a home for the dance, craft, food and stories of the Pacific, taught by the people who carry them. The cultures of Hawaii, Tahiti, Aotearoa, Samoa and Tonga meet here, in workshops and conversations filmed with kumu, master craftsmen, dancers, navigators and families. LEARN FROM THE SOURCE Step-by-step workshops break each lesson into chapters you can follow at your own pace: a Tahitian 'ori choreography, preparing feathers for lei hulu, a fire knife routine in siva afi, or a traditional Hawaiian tool made by hand. Go back over a chapter whenever you need to, then watch the whole piece come together. STORIES AND CONVERSATIONS Sit down with teachers and practitioners in Wala'au conversations, travel with voyaging canoes, visit festivals and markets across the Pacific, and cook family recipes with the lāhui. MEET THE CREATORS Creator profiles introduce the teachers sharing their knowledge - where they come from, their lineage and their work - so you can find more from the teachers you connect with.
