About
A lighter is your only light, your only clock, and your only warning.
Out of Light is a game of nerve in the dark. You cross an endless nighttime
countryside one lane at a time — wolves, hay wagons, runaway carts and cold
rivers pass in front of you, and the only thing holding back the night is the
small flame in your hand.
But the flame is dying. Wait too long for a safe gap and your light shrinks
until you can barely see the road; let it go out and the dark takes you. Rush,
and you step straight into the traffic you couldn't see. Every second is a bet
between the two.
Play by eye — then by ear. As your light fades you'll hear what you can no
longer see: the panting of a wolf pack, the rattle of a cart, the hiss of the
river. Grab a torch to throw the light back out and push on.
One thumb, one lane at a time. Swipe to step. Simple to start, brutal to
master.
A world that keeps changing. Harvest fields, a wolf-haunted wood, a river
you cross by raft, a lantern-lit village, and a storm-lashed moor where
lightning reveals the whole road for a heartbeat.
The dark is the game, not the backdrop. How far you can see is how much
time you have left.
Grab the fire. Torches sit in the dangerous lanes — the last-second
"Last Ember" save is the best feeling in the game.
Chase your best. One life, one number: how far did you get? Compare your
longest crossing on the global leaderboard.
Made by hand. Every field, wolf and flame was drawn for this game, and so
was every note of its music. Best played with the sound on.
The dark always wins in the end. See how far you get first.
