Complete waste of time unless you subscribe to the Pro option. I regret wasting my money on the download
No public paths without subscription
This is a scam. The app advertises this is the best app for walking etc in the UK, yet you don’t have access to anything but main roads unless, after paying the £2, you sign up for a £30 a year subscription.
Disappointed long time user
So disappointed that the app has changed to subscription only. I will be finding a new OS map app

I paid £2 for the app and it advertised OS maps but you can’t zoom in and find public footpaths etc you have to upgrade to £30 a year???
Complete waste of money
As other reviews have said, you’re paying £1.99 for literally just a sales pitch. Unless you’re paying for a yearly subscription (subscriptions are everywhere now and just a complete con, what happened to paying for something once and just owning it?) Also the map was blurry you’re better off just using google maps.

iCloud backup problem
Having a few problems recently if I try to backup the app on iCloud it wants to copy the entire maps a good 1Gb of data. All it needs to back up is my personal data from the app, which is a few Kb. Any chance of fixing this?
Might have been good once
Don’t buy this! It’s just a sales pitch for the pro version without which there is zero functionality.
No stats
Record a route and can view the stats ie time taken, max speed, ave speed then after a short time it disappears and all I get is elevation gain and max height.
Too complicated to use…
I just could use it. Paid my £1.99, downloaded the free national parks maps, but couldn't use it to plan a fairly simple hike in the Brecon Beacons. Perhaps it was just me. Deleted it. I’ll find another app.
Replacement for a paper map
Useless search function; not enough zoom to see where you are. Frustrating!
Arguably the best uk map app
The maps are clear right through all scales. The download system is incredibly sensibly by area. Works perfectly offline, something many don’t and when your out on the hills this is invaluable. You can upload gpx files and have the route overlay a map, bit convoluted system using the web site to do it but it works. Only thing it’s missing is snap/magnetic route planning, seems harsh to dock a star for that but it’s not perfect, close but not quite. I’ve tried others and always come back Outdoors GB. Best annual subscription I pay for

Great for driving, cycling and walking.
You can either use this with live online maps or download numerous different 1:50K and 1:25K maps for offline use in different areas of the country: regions, counties, National Parks, areas of natural beauty etc. NB you are not prompted to update these so it’s worth deleting and reloading them occasionally.
The Great Britain 1:250K Road Atlas map provided is years out of date so not reliable for route planning. I don’t use the route mapping and feel that’s given too much prominence - it’s far too easy to press the large button to start recording a route by mistake.

Over 10 years of reliable navigation
As the title suggests, this app just works: trustworthy and reliable, I have purchased many maps for offline use and now I have the unlimited OS Maps subscription too.
For anyone trying to give a negative review; learn how to use the app and the maps, only bad workmen blame their tools.

Working Again 29/4/23
Update 29/4/23: After the latest update its loading again & seems to be working fine so back to 5 stars.
24/4/23 update to the below, 1 week on & the app still doesn’t load, no update from the developers.
17/4/23: Had this for years & it’s been very good, however today, it’s not loading - app just shows loading photo & sticks (iPhone XS, iOS 16.4.1).

Still doesn’t work anymore
Just updated to the latest version 6.5.5 today of my favourite and much used map app. This latest update still doesn’t work at all on my iPad iOS 16.4.1 . It still just crashes out from the Home Screen. This is still appalling.
Hundreds of £'s invested in app
Now the app won't load and no response from customer services.

Does not open
Version 6.5.4 does not work on my iPhone se (2016) running iOS 13.
Quality of this app is sadly diminishing
1 April 2023: Latest update will not open on either my IPhone 12 or my iPad Air so I am unable to access any maps, online or offline. Also prior to the update some maps appear to be missing chunks of the maps. Great shame as this app was the “go to” app for Ordnance Survey mapping and routing.
