Terrible app with zero support
I hate this app and the headache it has caused me so much. I had to pay for the lifetime subscription 4 times one for each of my devices even though it says it has iCloud and family sharing capabilities. Nobody’s available to help. It’s a mess
Thank you
I’ve enjoyed using this app. What I appreciate most though is have a lifetime option instead of only a subscription to unlock all the features. Between this app and Noto I feel productive and organized.
Lifetime Subscription Expired
The Pro lifetime subscription on this buggy abandonware just impossibly expired.
Response from developer
Hi, the link feature is working properly. Please send us an email to troubleshoot the problem.
Flawed
I like the design and implementation of Outlinely and enthusiastically subscribed to use across iOS and my Mac. I use outlining as a strategy to draft long form writing and to plan for my work, so any software I use MUST BE stable and reliable. Unfortunately, I discovered that this software is neither only after a week or so with intensive use and experienced multiple (sometimes daily) crashes with loss of data. I caution others against this software if you value your data and your time.

WELCOME BACK! 🤗
I am SO glad to see this app is being maintained again. 😍Outlinely is THE best app for quickly outlining and organizing my thoughts. Despite the few issues after the iOS 12 and 13 updates, I continued to use it and pay the annual subscription fee because the other apps out there just didn’t meet ALL my needs. THANK YOU for keeping it on my homepage.

After update my text doesn’t shown correctly
I updated the app recently. After update my right to left text doesn’t shown correctly and all of my text is shown left aligned.
Incompatible with latest MacOS. No updates in a long while.
As many others here, I am quite hesitant to purchase anything simply because this app is getting obsolete with zero indication from the developers of any possible progress. Mac version is already incompatible with 64bit OS.
Too bad, really, it could be a great outliner.

Rarely updated, better options available
This app always showed potential, but the developer has a habit of making a few small changes and then letting the app languish for months at a time with no major new features. Why pay a subscription for an app that isn’t getting developed? Besides, there are better options out there now.
Where is Outlinely?
This app is really great, but it looks like all development might have stopped. I submitted a question to the developer via their support link, but no response. There are some issues with iOS 13 but no fixes and no updates in over a year. Hate to see such great apps die like this. Outlinely has some great features that set it apart. Hopefully it comes back to life.

Needs update
The app does not work with the latest version of iOS. I cannot even give feedback in the app.
Problems
Love this app! However, latest version of iPad OS update made weird white bar appear in center of screen when I swipe from left side to view files. It appeared after created another category. Appears all the time now making app very hard to use.
To anybody who asks about: Lifetime Subscription
UPDATE TO BELOW: Overbilled.
It turns out I was billed for both the annual subscription and the lifetime.
I tried to cancel the annual thru Apple but clearly they’ve automated everything and have no intention of giving anyone a refund.
I emailed Glam (twice in fact, including near a month ago when I sent an email inquiring on the matter of changing my subscription) but gotten zero response in either case.
I am quite annoyed that I just ate 15$ for no good reason other than automation and would like it back, and moreso for the complete lack of customer service I’m experiencing.
Even so, I will continue to use Outlinely because it is an excellent and dependable app. Just please know that I am quite offended at the state of total neglect my emails were treated. If I ever start to have issues with this app (which I don’t expect, but you never know when it comes to apps) I’ll swiftly reconsider my options as I’ll definitely remember that there is also zero customer service and that while my outlinely files are supposedly in the cloud they don’t show up in my files menu like all my other cloud files do, which leads me to feel as if my entire working universe could vanish before my eyes. Quite distressing.
While I appreciate that I have never needed customer service before (thank you) and don’t expect to in the future, it would be nice if you all could at least fix the glitch that caused me to double pay when your pop up asked me which renewal option I wanted to choose, and the fact that the annual subscription is obviously automated to keep going via apple even after I did select lifetime subscription from within the app (the only way it was even available to me). I had to manually cancel my annual subscription within the iOS App store on my subscriptions tab even after all that mayhem.
So, consider this a bug report.
___
When my existing annual subscription hit its renewal date, a popup came up when I opened the app and I was able to choose between the annual renewal and the Lifetime option.
I’m just mentioning this to anyone who’s asking because even though I sent an email to outlinely customer service I didn’t get a response and though some of you would be asking this same question — I wasn’t able to access the option any other way as an existing annual subscriber until the surprise popup arrived.
Great app — been using it for several years on subscription mode. Very dependable.

Superb but big question...
Dec 2018 Amazingly uncluttered and powerful outliner with all of the most important features... Zoom, tags, links within the app, iCloud sync... Who are these great designers?
May 2019 I am a full on iPad Pro and Outlinely has been the center of all of my text work on some huge projects. But, I really need an indication from the developers as to their intentions for future support. As I request that teammates and clients use Outlinely, I need a higher level of confidence. Please be in touch, and congratulations on a spectacular app.

Amazing outlining tool — by far the best!
I’m not kidding—this app is fantastic. The subscription price is well, well worth the clean interface; the extremely reliable sync between my iPhone, iPad, and Mac; the clear, collapsible outlining structure; the well-organized document pane; and (wow!) the gorgeous and greatly-configurable printing and exporting options.
I have multiple international projects running at any given time and this app allows me easily to jump between all my notes, to quickly find specific details, to link between different notes, and to organize everything so easily.
For nearly a year now I have been using this app many times a day on multiple devices and for pretty much all my notes.
Thank you also to the developer for coming back to the app and recently fixing the bugs and making great improvements.

Thank you! The problem is fixed now.
Subscription model without updates?
The purpose of the subscription model is to ensure consistent updates & responsive developers. Outlinely hasn’t received an update in over a year though!
I truly believe this can be one of the best outlines apps in a long time, but it’s still young & only consistent updates in response to user issues can help it mature to its potential.

Abandoned
Paid for $15 subscription. Haven't got a single update in 8+ months. Total ripoff.
Dead app
Update:
5 Stars to 1 Star. No support for iPhone X, six months after release. And no app update in over nine months. Clearly this app is dead and the developer has abandoned ship.
Previous review title:
Just wow! These guys are killing it!
Previous review:
This is absolutely worth $15/year! This outliner is astonishingly good! Up until discovering Outlinely, I had used WorkFlowy (who charge $5/month). Please keep up the great work! I personally appreciate the time and effort that you've put into this app. The attention to detail is staggering. If I could ask for just one thing that would make me happy beyond words, it would be theme support for Solarized.

So so and not worth the bucks!
Frankly I found Outliner to me a much more intuitive Outline App and so far it's free .... that said, I would gladly pay $5 but not $15 for something I found useful ... perhaps this App is simply Over Developed!
Font in free version is illegible
Deleted the app as have no desire to subscribe at $15/year just so I can read what I am typing. Thanks but no thanks.
Amazing minimalist interface, but on iPad significant bugs
Update: I forget that every other now and then Apple devices benefit from a restart. That solved the vanishing hierarchy, so I’m bumping my rating from 2 stars to 3. There are still some flow of use clunks (renaming, moving files could be much simpler and is in other apps.
What do I love? Simple interface and look and feel so I can flow with my thoughts instead of wrestle the app (the above issues are not related to outlining, but file management and ease of info out, not in). Library. It is part of my outline and allows me to have one outline of many. Ease of text settings. Well done!
Original review:
I bought the pro after trying this out; however, I soon learned that reopening outlines to edit them (at least on the iPad) causes them to lose all hierarchy. This is basic outline functionality and they don’t have it. They haven’t updated in 4 months, which is fine if they are in a big production cycle, but with bugs like this present, they ought to be pushing out bug updates faster.
