Best local video player on iOS!

The UI is so intuitive and the app is rock solid. Wouldn’t be without this app now

Promising App That Can Be Even Better

Outplayer is a really good app with a lot of potential. The UI is clean, and the overall experience is enjoyable. With a few key improvements, it could easily become one of the best video players.

The two features I feel are most important are:

1. More playback speed options – Please add finer controls like 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x, etc., instead of only the standard speed presets. This would make watching videos much more comfortable.
2. Manual aspect ratio controls – It would be great to have the ability to manually force different aspect ratios (such as Fit, Fill, Stretch, 16:9, 4:3, or Original). This would help when videos don’t display correctly.

Overall, it’s an excellent app that just needs these features to make it even better. Keep up the great work!

AWESOME VIDEO PLAYER

Thank you SOOOOOOOO MUCH…for adding back the volume boost feature. Unless there was a bug in my installation, I couldn’t get the volume boost feature that I loved so much when I downloaded this app years ago. I was really hoping to have it back. Looks like it was bright back in a previous update, but I never noticed it. Makes such a big difference when in on a noisy train watching a movie with my Bluetooth headphones. 10 STARS!!!

There are better options.

Just wanted a free video app, don't want to see features I can click then be informed come on pay up.

I wish there was a way to just hide anything in these apps that was paid junk.

Moved to infuse app, if that fails I'll use Vic.

Couldn’t ask for anything better

Probably when I bought it years ago the loop option didn’t save. The developer appears to have made it save the “Mode” when you set it to loop since I’ve last used the app. I tested it after they replied to me. They were hard to contact before when I first purchased the app. App has everything I could ask for at this point and runs amazingly! Thanks for letting me know of the new functionality.

Better alternative to the ‘bigger’ media players on the App Store

Best minimal and clean media player app that I have tried out of all the big hitters on the App Store. Bought the pro version without a second thought to support the dev.

Only thing it’s missing is maybe toggles for mono audio or downsampling, incremental speed adjustments instead of fixed and maybe showing chapters in the seekbar which could all be addressed in future updates. Also maybe ytdlp support for webstreaming…

Please keep this app minimal and free of unnecessary bloat like the others!

Missing one feature

It's an amazing app, but I'd like to have videos be able to loop by default as an option. I tried to contact the dev but they seem to be unresponsive.

Excellent

Are you joking? Only 37MB install which does Picture in Picture from any video in my iOS files app? Great work Stephen (the developer)! Thanks for your work. Excellent app. I’m so grateful.

mpv yet it's closed source. make it make sense

1 star til you open source it

must have video player!

much more stable than VLC media player, looks beautiful and works great!

Almost perfect

I use Outplayer daily as my default for watching videos. It’s one of the few apps I’ve purchased the full version of and it’s easily worth the price. It collects NO USER DATA; try finding another app that doesn’t. Its only major deficiency is its inability to cast videos. With that fixed, a few minor nitpick-y enhancements would make it perfect—eg the ability to change the library folder location, view the library while watching a video in PIP, or rename multiple videos at once. I hope the creator’s still making substantive updates because it’s so close to being the best player available. Well done—

Fabulous app

Few things missing
Multi channel audio support with spacial audio (iPadOS)
Custom aspect ratio and crop feature
Subtitles sometimes are not moving beyond video although there are black bars

Wastes 1/2 GB Data & Documents

It’s a 35.5 MB app. Why is it wasting HALF A GIGABYTE of memory with Data/Documents when deleted and reloaded fresh? It’s a slush fund for wasted memory and Lego developers. I really don’t buy Apple anymore. And especially no iOS apps anymore with the garbage quality, Apple’s complicity and the simple mindedness and the subscription’ scourge. If you’re over 40 you walk away from Apple, as they have us first.

Outstanding

This the file player I’ve been waiting for.
Great library configuration. Excellent file folder views. Unlimited folders. Speeds are carried from current video to subsequent videos. Plus a lot more.

Great App

While its one of the best apps out there, keeping adjusting subtitles delay behind paywall is bonkers as its supposed to be a basic functionality of a video player

The best file transfer solution in addition to the best player

Faster than AirDrop to get files back and forth, cross platform

Fix app

No support for smb stream from nas

Add stretch mode

Amazing player and clean UI. Please add a proper stretch mode for fullscreen videos.

Zoom function doesn’t work

And the auto rotation doesn’t work… off or on it just stays horizontal Beyond the fact I can’t zoom it’s a pretty good app.. I get that figured out I’ll change to 5

Casting from iOS

App is great except that it’s missing/has removed casting features which greatly limits the purpose of it
