Outpost: Claim the Earth

Time spent becomes ground held. Outpost turns the places where you spend time into territory on a map. Pass through quickly and you leave a flag. Stay fifteen minutes and the tile is yours. Return on three different days and it becomes a stronghold, marked by a beam of light from the sky. ■ Staying is the requirement This map does not reward covering distance. It rewards staying. Your regular cafe, the park you keep going back to, the street you walk every day — those become the record. Roads you merely drive through are never claimed. ■ A map at night The map lies in darkness, and only the tiles you have been to glow. Strongholds send up pillars of light, and from far away the shape of your daily life appears as clusters of light. ■ Today's Expedition Walk the same route and the map stops filling. Each day Outpost suggests a few new tiles nearby. It does not give you a route — which street to take is yours to decide. ■ Titles and achievements Fill 90% of a district to become its Conqueror. Leave no tile behind to become its Sovereign. Sixteen achievements and a collection of titles to wear. ■ Easy on the battery Outpost does not keep GPS running. It rides on the low-power location signals iOS already produces. In field testing it stayed under 1% of daily battery use. ■ Your location never leaves your phone No account, no server.
