About
Expecting is a calm, private companion for your pregnancy — designed with the quiet elegance of the apps already on your phone.
CAN I EAT THIS?
Search any food mid-grocery-run and get a clear Safe, Caution, or Avoid answer with the reason why — more than 125 foods, from brie to sushi to deli meat, based on FDA, CDC, and ACOG guidance. One tap from anywhere in the app.
WEEK BY WEEK, AT YOUR PACE
Your baby's development, your body's changes, and a gentle size comparison for every week from 1 to 42. Timely reminders arrive at the right week — the glucose test window, the anatomy scan, Tdap, kick counts — never more than a few notifications a week, and you control every category.
GENTLE HEALTH TRACKING
• Weight, with your personal recommended range based on IOM guidelines
• Water, exercise, prenatal vitamin, mood and sleep
• Kick counts from week 28, with a full-screen one-handed counter
• Contraction timing that understands the 5-1-1 rule
• Symptom log with built-in safety guidance — some symptoms deserve a same-day call, and the app tells you which ones
• A private bump photo diary
CONNECTED TO APPLE HEALTH
Read weight, water, steps, and workouts from Health so your Apple Watch entries appear automatically — and everything you log is saved back to Health, where it stays yours.
ANSWERS YOU CAN TRUST
A knowledge base of 85+ questions — medications, travel, sleep, skincare, vaccines, exercise, labor signs — each answered from public health authorities (ACOG, CDC, FDA, NIH) with sources and review dates shown.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts. No ads. No analytics. No data sales — ever. Your data lives on your iPhone and syncs through your own iCloud. We run no servers that can see it.
Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fourth, whether everything is routine or nothing is — Expecting meets you with calm, clarity, and care.
Expecting provides general educational information and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your physician, midwife, or qualified health provider with questions about your pregnancy.

What's New in OWL
1.1.0
August 28, 2026
This update lets Expecting speak about your baby the way you do. Tell the app you are having a boy or a girl — or keep it a surprise — and the weekly notes, notifications, and tips follow your lead. You can change or clear this any time in Settings. Also new: an optional library of plain-language guides to conditions and complications that can arise in pregnancy, a skincare ingredient checker, and warning signs for the newborn weeks. Every guide names its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
