Does NOT work, complete failure

The Ox Box looked a great idea, it is really expensive and most of the real features require the application to be able to configure the majority of the features it is sold as having available. Reality falls way short of that hype, the iPad app simply does NOT work. It may have on older iPadOS but not with iPadOS 16. Support from UA has been hopeless, they half heartedly sent a few webpage links to things I had already read and have not responded since. I cannot recommend based on my experience.

App won’t connect to iPad Pro 17.1.1
So disappointed - was looking forward to using my iPad to control the Rig, as shown in YouTube videos, but the app will not connect to the Ox. I can connect to the Ox Box hotspot to set it up, and I followed the directions on the UA website to debug the wireless. For a company renowned for the software (the plugins) this app is a huge let down and the features are completely useless. The Ox Box itself is great as an attenuator - but the app and connectivity are dismal. It’s been 4 years since an app update, so it looks like we are left with an expensive box w/ no app support.

The lack of a landscape mode really feels like a tremendous oversight (or a corner cut). Please devote the resources to this. My iPad stand only holds the device horizontally, and I can’t let it on top of the substantially sized Ox. It would be materialistically wasteful to buy a stand to accommodate the vertical functionality of one app.
It has also been surprising that I need to reconnect to the Ox whenever I leave the app –– for instance if I switch to another window to look up more information about a setting in the app, without closing the app completely. I’ve found these two fundamental functions lacking, on an otherwise exceptional product. I’m getting the best sounds from my amps I ever have at home (+ two stars for the hardware and configurability), but the app could be much better with basic improvements, which I see requested in other views from several years ago. It’s time to address these.

No Landscape mode

Best app with the best attenuator on the market, come on devs add landscape mode, this little improvement would help my studio work flow tremendously!
1.2.0 breaks use of 1.0.0 firmware
My Ox is still on its original 1.0.0 firmware. I installed version 1.2.0 of the app and I’m now unable to use the iPad app with the Ox. UA does not appear to offer any workaround for updating the firmware. That must have been available in an earlier version of the app, but no more. Please fix this. I paid a lot of money for this box.

Preset selection issue
Jumps when selecting presets. This makes it almost impossible to select presets properly.
Good, but lacks Landscape Mode
I use my iPad in a kickstand/keyboard mode in my studio, but unfortunately the Ox app doesn’t support anything other than Portrait/Vertical orientation.
Seems like a simple fix that would improve the usability and workflow for those of us using stands.

A great App and wonderful hardware
It’s a fantastic App. Simple to use and quite beautiful. It matches the ox device perfectly. It’s early day, but I’d love to see it work in portrait mode and it needs to be a bit more stable in its WiFi connectivity. It is great though.
Game Changer For Guitarists
It just works easily. Steps are so basic. The OX and this app make this a “game changer”.
-The 2 Fender Tweeds and Vox models are just fantastic. Sparkly and clean and will light on fire when the volume turned up and extra "gristle" is needed.
1) Connect Amp out into OX with correct Ohm matched. Plug in headphones or Line out to monitors, Turn on Ox, Turn on Amp, Play Guitar.
-Default Cabinets are Great: 1) Marshall green back, 2) Tweed alnico, 3) Vox 2x12, 4) Tweed 4x10 bassman, 5) Blackface Champ/Princeton and 6) 2 x12 Divided by 13.
The UAD platform is rock solid and captures the soul of the best studio gear. This App leverages the great sounding modeled gear as a foundation for its recording chain that mike , nice plate reverb, compressor (1176), Delay and EQ.
