List Not Shareable
I purchased the upgraded version of Packaroo for $5.99, because the app description claimed that packing lists were shareable via a number of methods, including Messages, Email, Airdrop, etc. I planned to share my beautifully formatted lists with my fellow travelers (who are not as tech-savvy) via email and printed copies. But that is not actually possible.
The support team confirmed that, at least
as of 9/14/2025, lists can only be shared via text ... which wipes out the checklist format. If users want a simple, printable packing list, can do that in a number of other mediums .... for free.

Apparently Abandoned
In response to the prompt for a review in the app, I am not enjoying Packaroo. It looks lovely and so I paid for Pro but I should have been more careful. Packaroo appears to have been abandoned around 2 years ago. And, having spent ages carefully creating custom bundles on iPhone find they never got around to iCloud sync, despite making an announcement about it back at iOS 15 (found during Google search).
If you see that an app has iPhone and iPad compatibility it’s fair to assume they sync? They don’t. Do I need to check that the developers are still at the wheel before parting with money. Apparently so. I applied for a refund and was declined as ‘not eligible’ for reasons that have not been disclosed.
Apple is getting very blasé about allowing abandonware on the supposedly curated walled garden of the App Store (see the formerly very popular Countdown+ app for details).
That is all a shame as the icon is great.

Best packing app
The best packing app I’ve tried and I’ve tried a LOT. Strikes a great balance between simplicity and power. The only major missing feature I can think of is true iCloud style live collaborative lists: my wife and I would love to be able to see who has packed what while we’re scrambling around juggling kids and packing. You can share a snapshot of your checklist which is helpful but we inevitably end up just handing my phone back and forth to check stuff off. Would pay a monthly fee just for that feature!

App has a lot of potential but it does not sync data between devices (iPhones & iPad mini)

Die App ist nur teilweise deutsch übersetzt. Die Appstruktur und die Idee ist sehr gut, aber nicht komplette Übersetzung ruiniert dein Eindruck.

Needs further development
Quite handy and has some great ideas in the design.
Unfortunately development investment seems to have dried up. There are plenty of new things they could add. Top of my list would be an Undo button for those times when my clumsy finger checks something off the list by accident and I don’t know what it was. Second would be storing the list in iCloud so I can access it from iPad or iPhone, whichever is closer.

Editing
Why can’t I edit (make changes to an individual item) in a list or collection without having to delete it and enter a new item instead of a simple edit?
Really the only packing app you should consider
I don’t review a lot of things, but it’s clear that a lot of thought and work went into this one, and I think they deserve some recognition. I’ve tried a lot of packing apps and all of them have been comparatively rudimentary. It’s a little hard to wrap your mind around Packaroo at first - you have to get used to the idea of “bundles” and “collections” and decide how to make them work for you - but once you have it figured out it’s very flexible and powerful.

Good but can be better
The bundle is a great concept, so I purchased an upgrade. However I’m still experiencing lag in the app; even after unchecking a few items, they remain checked when I reopen it, despite force closing the app multiple times. It would be an improvement if we could add pictures to create visual checklists

Too many bugs, not supported, too many steps
The concept of the app is good but the implementation needs work fixing bugs and issues. Entering items and making changes is tedious and too many steps. From the beginning I found multiple bugs and issues and gave the developers the information so they could fix them. They did nothing with them and immediately stopped making updates with new versions and that was 6 months ago, so apparently they don’t want to make the effort or are no longer supporting it.
Easy example. Item is entered as “Water Thermos” but when you go to edit it later the app automatically changes it to “Water thermos”. Not a major thing unless somewhere you put a brand name. Regardless, it changes it on you. Many more things too numerous to mention.
Although I love the *idea* of the app I would recommend looking elsewhere for one that is supported and not as difficult to use with less issues.

Generally a good app, but there are bugs to fix. Disappointed that I bought the upgrade to be able to share with other Packaroo users, but was then told it isn't working.

There are many packing list apps out there. But I wanted an app that allows me to separate which items go in my purse, my carry-on, and my checked luggage.
This app does that, and does it well. I upgraded and am a happy packer!

Stellar App
I’ve been using this app for a year or two now and it’s pretty much perfect. The concepts of bundles and regulars take all the tedium out of planning for a trip. Ski trip? One tap to add all the necessary cold weather clothing. Best of all, I have yet to forget something on any of my trips (a semi-regular occurrence previously).
The core features of the app are great, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by recent additions too (trip dates, to do lists). Looking forward to what comes next!
Oh, and the support is wonderful (👋 Sue). Have had a few of my suggestions and bug fixes added to the app.

Great app, highly engaged developer
Developer was very open to feedback and immediately addressed issues. Further, they took feedback for future improvement and built into new release. Greatly appreciate the hard work to build a great app!
Excellent responsive customer support
App is really intuitive and helps organize everything you need to pack for all type of trips. It’s really the best app I’ve tried in this category. If you get a bug, the creators will address it quickly and offer solutions in the meantime so there is no risk to trying this app. The free one gives you an idea of the UI and though you could probably be ok with that version, I found upgrading to be beneficial.

Just keeps getting better
I have been using Packaroo for a couple of years now (>10 complex internalional trips) and its IMO the best of the packing list apps on the App Store. The addition of the features to the latest version make it even better. Very helpful and responsive developers too :-)
Clever app
This is a clever app once you put the effort in to set up your standard items. Just a shame there is no iPad version which would work better for me.

Sure would be nice to have iPad compatibility so I can use this on my iPad Mini.
