Can’t add items to the list

I generated an AI list for a trip and can edit the items automatically added, but the interphase for adding new items seems to be faulty? Clicked the plus, typed an item then clicked the plus, typed and item and hit return… no such luck. I wanted to like it, it’s a cool idea. But useless if I can add items.
