PackRide — Release Summary Experience & design - Rebuilt Community screens into a modern full-bleed, web-style layout. - Redesigned Connections with an Instagram-style Followers / Following experience. - Updated Ride Room with full-bleed styling and dark-mode fixes. - Added a waypoint reminder before starting a group ride without a route. - Improved external sharing for group rides, communities, and ride stats with richer share cards instead of a basic App Store link. Account & social - Added Google, Apple, and Facebook sign-in support alongside email login. - Added public rider summaries for Discover and Connections, without exposing private location data. - Improved follower/following handling and profile synchronization. Live location & privacy - Live location is private by default. - Added Profile controls to share while riding with: - Followers - Communities - A selected subset of followers, rather than everyone - Added an “All followers” or “Only selected followers” audience model. - Removing a selected follower revokes their location access immediately. - Added configurable Nearby Rider radius: 1–50 miles. - Friends Map and Nearby Rider detection now consume private per-viewer location feeds. - Active Group Ride members can always see one another during that ride, regardless of normal sharing preferences. - Added membership backfill for existing communities: opening My Communities repairs the signed-in rider’s own membership index. Safety & emergency - Replaced the rejected Emergency Live Activity/widget approach with crash-alert workflows. - Crash incidents notify emergency contacts; group-ride responders can also be included when applicable. - Added crash acknowledgement handling and escalation backend support. - Kept Need Help scoped to recipients chosen by the rider. - Removed the unused EmergencyWidget folder, source files, assets, and Xcode references. Firebase & backend - Added private locationFeeds and groupLocationFeeds delivery paths. - Added Cloud Functions for follower, community, group-room, and Help Request fan-out. - Added immediate follower-audience synchronization when privacy settings change. - Added publicRiders summary records. - Published tightened Realtime Database rules: - Owner-only private user records - Authenticated public rider summaries - Private per-viewer location feeds - Group room access based on membership - Preserved feed post, reactions, comments, and crash incident protections - Deployed the updated Firebase Functions and Database Rules to packride-6f5ab. Performance & reliability - Reduced duplicate Firebase profile/location listeners. - Throttled location publishing to reduce battery and network use. - Improved observer cleanup when screens close. - Added group-room membership indexing and safer final-stat write ordering. - Verified the iOS project builds successfully after the latest changes.
