Tons of Potential, but not ready yet…
The biggest issue is how unpolished the app feels. It’s very laggy and frequently unresponsive, with multiple glitches that make it frustrating to use. Posting videos is especially disappointing — there’s no sound, which makes that feature feel incomplete.
Another major limitation is the group size cap. Being restricted to only seven people per group is a huge drawback for accountability groups. For something built around community and consistency, that limit feels unnecessarily restrictive.
On top of that, the reminder system doesn’t work well. One of the main reasons we downloaded the app was to help us stay consistent, but it does a poor job of reminding users to post while they’re actually working out. Multiple people in our group have said they forget to post because the notifications just aren’t effective.
What’s most frustrating is that I’ve reached out to the development team multiple times about these issues and haven’t received any response. I understand that it seems like a small team, but communication goes a long way — especially when users genuinely want to see the app improve and succeed.
The idea behind PactPic is strong, and I truly hope the developers continue improving it. Right now, though, it feels too early-stage and underdeveloped to fully rely on for gym accountability.
2 stars because the concept has real potential — but it needs significant polish, better performance, improved reminders, video functionality fixes, and more responsive support.
Response from developer
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We truly appreciate that you and your friends believed in the concept of PactPic and gave it a real try for your gym accountability group. We completely understand your frustration with the lag, glitches, and overall polish. Performance improvements and stability updates are actively being worked on, and making the app smoother and more reliable is one of our top priorities right now. Regarding the video sound issue — thank you for flagging that clearly. We agree that video without audio feels incomplete, and we’re reviewing improvements to make that feature more functional and valuable. About the 7-person group limit: this was initially designed to encourage tighter accountability circles, but we understand how restrictive that can feel for larger groups. Based on feedback like yours, we’re evaluating ways to expand group capacity in future updates. We also want to clarify that we have already replied to your email. We truly value communication and would never intentionally ignore feedback — especially from users who genuinely want to see the app improve. Thank you again for recognizing the potential behind PactPic. We’re committed to refining the experience and building something worthy of your accountability group.
