About

PadBrain is a sampling pad and a multitrack backing-track player for drummers — pad sounds, backing tracks and the click from one iPhone, iPad or Mac. ON STAGE • Backing tracks and click run on one clock. One splitter cable: left to the house (tracks + pads), right to your in-ears (click + cues). • Section jumps and HOLD — when the leader wants the chorus again, HOLD. Jumps always land on the next bar line. • At a song's end, stop, or go straight into the next on the beat. • PANIC (press and hold), LIVE LOCK, foot switches and page-turner pedals. • Home pressed or screen locked, the tracks and the click go on. PADS • A kit per song, nine pads. Real recorded acoustic, 808, percussion and FX kits included. • Plug in a USB MIDI pad, drum module or trigger and play. Around 10 ms. • Pads that fire by themselves on a section's first beat (a crash on the chorus). PREP • Share your own or licensed backing tracks from a chat, mail or AirDrop to PadBrain. The app listens for its tempo and sections. • Split tracks (click on one side, band on the other) work too — the click stays in your ears. • Several sets (church, band, practice), a linked iCloud Drive folder per set, a whole show in one file for another device. • Rig drawings — on your own, with an engineer, practice, pads and triggers — down to the plugs. METRONOME • Tap tempo, subdivisions (quarters, 8ths, 16ths, triplets), 1–8 bar loops. Every feature free. No ads, no account, no data collected. Works offline.

What's New in PadBrain

1.0.2

October 11, 2026

• The pre-show check no longer floats as a lone box on iPad and Mac. • Files with no sound, or backing tracks under a second, are refused instead of added. Import errors are clearer. • On iPad and Mac, the set list on Live no longer cuts a playing song (stop first, or use NEXT).
