About

Display classic paintings across your iPhone screen with Painted Rooms. Browse 31 works by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Albert Bierstadt, Paolo Veronese, and Karl Kaufmann, then choose one painting or play a slideshow of your favorites. Paintings fill the screen in portrait and landscape, with proportional cropping. Tap to hide or restore the artwork details and tab bar. Swipe left or right to change paintings, including while the controls are hidden. Browse paintings by artist in Gallery. Edit Slideshow to choose which works appear, then adjust the time per painting in Settings. All 31 paintings are included offline, with no account required. Choose the displayed artwork brightness or let it follow local time and seasonal daylight. These controls change the painting inside the app; they do not change the device's system brightness. Read each painting's title, artist, date, and artistic movement. Complete image credits, source records, rights designations, and licensing information are available in Settings. Most included images are public domain or CC0; any material under another license is attributed in the app. Painted Rooms supports iPhone, including iPhone Duo, and is also available for Mac and Apple TV. It runs as a foreground art display and does not replace the system wallpaper or screensaver. Painted Rooms is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the museums or collections credited in the app.
