Amazing Company!
This is maybe not the best paid ESL teaching job in the world, but it is a great place to start and have a wonderful, easy breezy teaching experience. The curriculum is fun and is all provided for you, with very little lesson prep’ needed. The students are assigned to you also and so little marketing is needed, which is always great of course! I thoroughly enjoy teaching on this platforms and there are lots of bonuses, rewards and opportunities to make more money and expand your business. I would definitely recommend choosing PalFish to teach English as a foreign language- give it a try!

Pretty lame
Seemed like an easy concept, I am a Native English speaker, have done lots of teaching and online teaching, plus I have the 120 hour TEFL certificate.
The mock/trial class went very bad. Not enough direction given so I was told to do it again. I prepared and tried again, but still no full explanation of anything.
Then I was told I was not wanted. It’s ok, not the first time I’ve been rejected, but this was just strange. The whole layout and concept didn’t make much sense, wish there was more explanations so I could do the job correctly.

Great app
This is a great app and they are improving it all the time! I have taught on PalFish platform and I absolutely love it! I recommend teachers and friends to PalFish and I plan on teaching again on their platform because I miss it so much!! Thanks PalFish!!
PalFish is awesome!
I have been teaching with power face for quite some time now and I really couldn’t be happier.The extra cash has definitely been helpful and I love the job! The children that you teach are so sweet and eager to learn, for the most part. I look forward to going to work and that doesn’t happen very often for me. I highly recommend anyone should do this!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Avoid this company…RUN
I used to really like waking up at 4am to teach with PalFish. I worked with them for over three years and was a well established teacher sometimes bringing in over $3500 a month. Even before the changes in China happened things started to go downhill. Pay cuts, fines for silly things, making you watch silly videos on how to teach. Anyway in early 2021 I had to cancel 7 classes as I needed emergency surgery. I appealed with all my documentation and was told sure you will get your money back. Months passed and no money was reimbursed to me. Finally one day 12 months after my appeal I decided to ask again for the money I was owed and in return I was sacked and my account was deactivated!!! Thanks PalFish 👍👍

No honor and no shame
Palfish will fine you money for mistakes on their end. They have no loyalty and will cut your wages with no notice. They treat teachers as lesser humans. They sell classes to parents under the guise of having a native English teacher and then they give you a Chinese English teacher. Run away from this company. Do not spend your money here. I want to give zero stars.

Teachers and Parents Beware!
They make up new rules and cause disruptions in teachers classes to “fine” them. The company steals the teacher money earned. Many parents feel they have been scammed and are lied to consistently by Palfish staff. They “scam” the parents and the teachers, they should be taken off the App selection to protect the consumers. Sad, they were once a good company.

Avoid PalFish at all costs!
This company has no morals. We got a 40% pay cut with only 9 days notice last year. Now they’re firing experienced teachers for no reason! For example, teachers have been fired this week for complaints given 2-3 years ago. For cancelling classes within 24 hours if they caught covid or got ill.
PalFish has been going downhill for the past 3.5 years but they just hit rock bottom.

Having to write this review is such a shame as I have really loved working for Palfish.
Last year Palfish forced teachers to take an almost 40% paycut. At the same time, they disabled the messaging feature for 3 weeks for “maintenance” so that teachers could not tell their students what was going on. Any teachers who decided not to accept the new pay rate had all their remaining classes instantly cancelled and could not say goodbye to their students.
This month, long-standing teachers are being fired for “offenses” such as too many class cancellations, complaints etc, most of which are either untrue or from over 2 years ago. Not to mention having their remaining classes cancelled and actually being fined for this.
An even lower pay rate has now been introduced for new teachers, making this far below the live -able wage for many countries. There are far better paying ESL companies out there who actually treat their teachers with respect. Don’t lower yourself to this company’s standards!

Horrible company to work for
Started with PalFish in 2019 and absolutely loved it. I had bookings straight away and was earning a substantial amount of pocket money.
Unfortunately, as time went on, our incentives were slowly chipped away. Including a pay cut in 2021, which severely impacted my financial expectations.
I left in December 2021 and do not regret my decision. I became so paranoid of upsetting students, cancellations and disappointing PalFish as a company. I am now with other companies who are more supportive and actually treat their teachers like people not like dogs.

Do not use this company!
I started this company in 2018 and it was great during covid. Then with 9 days notice the company cut all teachers salaries by 40% and now they are firing the best teachers for basically no reason! This company is not ethical they don’t care about their students or teachers!
Worst company
I worked for PalFish for over 3 years and I used to live it earning £18+ per hour, then they started cutting the pay, eventually down to £6 an hour, eventually they randomly fired everyone and deducted more pay for the final classes that they cancelled. The people who run this company have absolutely no morals and can’t even be described as human.

Awful and deceitful
This company lies about their loyal teachers, makes up stories to tell students which are completely false, steals money from teachers, excessively fines teachers, and is hands down the worst company I have ever worked for. If I could give zero stars, I would! Stay away!!!
