About
Palim is a calm scratchpad for plain text, code and Markdown. Open it and start typing: there is no Save button, no files and no account. Notes save themselves as you type and are still there when you come back days later.
• Many notes, titled automatically from the first line (or rename them)
• Plain Text, Code with highlighting for 33 languages (React and Vue included), and Markdown with Edit, Split and Preview views; in Split the preview scrolls along
• Diagrams written as text in Markdown (Mermaid), drawn in the colours of your theme
• Folders, nested as deep as you like, and notes in your own order (drag and drop)
• Select several notes and folders to move, export or delete them together
• Pin the notes you use every day to the top
• Search every note at once, ignoring accents: "pho" finds "phở"
• Tick tasks right in the Preview
• Paste Markdown or code into a new note and Palim recognises it
• A keyboard bar with Undo, Tab, arrows and the symbols you need
• Adjustable text size
• Present a folder as slides: every note is a slide, and a --- line in Markdown starts the next one. Make the text bigger or switch the theme from the slide toolbar
• Open text, code, Markdown, JSON and ZIP files in Palim from Files, Mail or any app (Open With or Share); the original is never changed
• Import files as notes and share any note as a file
• Six light and dark themes
• Delete with Undo; the Trash keeps notes for 30 days
• Made for iPhone and iPad, in any orientation
Private by design: your notes stay on your device. Palim has no account, no server, no ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics and no tracking.
Your notes come with you to a new iPhone or iPad: they are part of your own iCloud Backup, so restoring a device or setting up a new one brings them back. Export All Notes saves everything into one file you keep wherever you like.
