About

Paperlight is a beautiful, private reader for all of your books — novels, textbooks, scanned classics, comics and documents. Open EPUB, PDF, DjVu, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, TXT and CBZ in one app that looks and feels at home on iPhone and iPad. EVERY FORMAT, ONE LIBRARY • EPUB — reflowable text with your fonts and layout • PDF — sharp pages, smooth zoom and rotation • DjVu — fast, crisp rendering of scanned books, with search and text selection • MOBI and AZW3 — opened automatically, no conversion tools needed • FB2, including .fb2.zip and .fbz — even imperfect files from older libraries open in full • TXT — plain text in any common encoding, laid out like a real book • CBZ comics — full-screen pages you can zoom into • Covers, titles and authors are picked up on import DJVU, DONE RIGHT Old scans, rare editions and technical books are often only available in DjVu. Paperlight renders them natively — no conversion, no waiting — with a table of contents, search, zoom, rotation and page-turn animations. SCANS YOU CAN SEARCH Turn on Recognize Text for a scanned book, and Paperlight reads pages that have no text layer right on your device. Select, highlight, translate and search them like any other book. Scanned magazines and comics saved as EPUB or MOBI open as pages, too. READ YOUR WAY • Six themes: Original, Quiet, Paper, Bold, Calm and Focus — each in light and dark • Nine fonts, including New York, Iowan, Palatino, Charter and Athelas, or the publisher’s original • Font size from 60% to 250%, bold text, line spacing, margins and justification • Slide, curl or continuous scroll page turns; tap the screen edges to turn pages if you like • In-app brightness slider for comfortable reading at any hour • The screen stays awake while you read • Works with a mouse or trackpad on iPad: drag to turn the page NIGHT MODE, EVEN FOR SCANS Dark themes dim PDF and DjVu pages, and “Dark Pages” inverts text-only scans into light text on a dark background — easy on the eyes in bed. HIGHLIGHT, NOTE, BOOKMARK Highlight passages in five colours, add notes and bookmark pages. Every highlight and note is listed by chapter in the contents, where you can search them and filter by colour. Search the whole book and see every match in context. LOOK UP AND TRANSLATE Select a word to see it in the system dictionary, or translate a sentence on device with Apple’s Translation — once the languages are downloaded, it works without an internet connection. Add a translation to your notes with one tap. A TIDY LIBRARY Continue Reading on the Home screen, Want to Read, Finished and your own folders, nested as deep as you like. Select several books to move or delete them at once. Sort by title, author, progress or date, in a grid or a list, and find any book in seconds. ON ALL YOUR DEVICES Turn on iCloud Sync, and your books, reading positions, highlights, notes, bookmarks and folders follow you between iPhone and iPad. Pick up on one device where you stopped on the other. Sync goes through your own iCloud — it is off until you turn it on. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Paperlight works completely offline. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking — your books and notes stay on your device, unless you turn on iCloud Sync to keep them in your own iCloud. ADDING BOOKS Import with the + button from the Files app, use “Open in Paperlight” from Mail, Safari or any app, or copy files into the app’s folder in Files or Finder. Paperlight picks them up automatically. Paperlight opens DRM-free files. Books bought in other stores with copy protection cannot be opened.
