Has been better in the past
This is the third year I have done the Parade of Hearts, and it is by far the worst. I love the hearts, but the app is horrible.
The app crashes constantly, where the only feature that will work is the QR code scanner. When it crashes, the map, the home page, the routes page, and the list of hearts isn’t visible.
As a side comment unrelated to functionality, a good majority of heart descriptions have glaringly obvious spelling errors that would be easy to resolve.

Year 3 more app issues
This is the third tour of the hearts and this is the most issues with the app.

Kinda useless…
QR code scanner doesn’t focus to scan the hearts, I have to use the camera app first before it reroutes to the app. Also the integrated map doesn’t show your current location to see where the nearest heart is at. Could use some updates to improve this experience. Would be cool if you could have an imbedded photo library to take photos at each heart location and the ability to share to social media or something.

2024 glitches
I loved this app until this year. Many glitches. When scanning QR code it brings up white screen and won’t count check in. You can manually check in but then that doesn’t add it to your total. The new counting feature is a good idea…if it worked. Only 2 of my first 5 show counted. One of the biggest issues that should be fixed is that the hearts don’t change color on the map once you’ve seen them! I believe they were either blue or purple last year and this year they’re black and don’t change. This makes it harder to navigate with the map and is a bit frustrating. If these areas could be changed it would be a great app!!
Update: new version updates don’t work. I deleted and reinstalled the app and only 3 of 4 hearts change colors on the map indicating I’ve visited and the Home Screen now edicts 0% seen instead of 4% even with the screen refresh.

Ex Amazon App UserWhat happened to this app?
The previous years it worked flawlessly! The 2024 version doesn’t change the colors of the pins, freezes when using the map, doesn’t immediately update, the scanner is nearly worthless.
It used to be fun to see what might be around your current location, but now it’s too cumbersome. You’re already out of the area by the time it decides to show anything.

Excited for the 2023 Hearts
This new app update seems to have resolved the crash issues from last year and includes some other improvements. Looking forward to tracking the hearts I see this year.

This app is a great compliment to the hearts and the artists who created these beauties displayed in the Heart of America. Take a minute to checkout all the fun stuff this app has to offer. The update in 2023 does not disappoint.
Okay but needs improvement
The app is very limited. It has a map, but some of the hearts are hidden from street view and makes it hard to know if you are in the correct area. Also the app needs a counterpart function to the wishlist, the ability to mark hearts as “do not want to see” so as to not have the racist/socialist anti-America pandering hearts appear on the map.

Removes Check In
I have been to, seen, checked in and scanned the coder to all 156 hearts and the app removes my check ins? I still gave the app 4 stars, it was amazing just following the map my husband and I had a blast
Crashes
Every time I try to open the app it closes itself

Each time I try to open the app it immediately crashes. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it still crashes and doesn’t work.
Doesn’t work
I’ve tried downloading this app twice. When I open it to try and see where all the hearts are located it says whoops. There is an error loading the hearts!
Can’t even open app
App immediately crashes every time I try to open it. I’ve tried deleting the app and starting over. Nothing seems to work.
App Works Great, Some Hearts in Wrong Places
The app works well, and the map is very accessible. However, I noticed a couple of hearts are in the wrong places. For instance, “Growing Peace, Love, and Harmony” is labelled where “Pass It On” heart should be (in Power and Light’s KC Live). Other than that, app is perfect for following along with the Parade of Hearts!

Doesn’t load the hearts
This app won’t load the hearts on my iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 15.4.1. The app will open but when I click on Hearts at the bottom nothing loads. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and that didn’t help either. And I restarted my phone and that didn’t help.
Does not work for iPhone
I have downloaded, deleted, and reloaded the app multiple times on multiple different days, and it still does not work. Disappointing.
