I no longer trust the easy online wallets for passwords and codes. I use PTE and rotation passwords and have for the last couple of years. My ID has been robbed at least 3 times through data breaches hitting the US gov and other places. TRUST no one. Encrypt your sensitive data yourself. Freeze your credit history.

disappointed
"upgrading" to Monterey destroyed my ability to use 90% of my legacy software, including iStego. While searching for any free steganography software that was free and usable on my now crippled mac mini (thanks for nothing Monterey), this Paranoia Text Encryption software claimed it could do steganography. Instead of conveniently letting you drop a file of your choice onto an image of your choice and ending up with a file hidden in an image with little fuss, PTE makes it practically impossible. Perhaps someone will figure it out, but my patience wore thin and I gave up after wasting time. Not intuitive or user friendly, and not worth the time I wasted trying to get it to work.

This is (as the name suggests) text encryption software. If you want to work with general files, I would recommend looking for something like FILE encryption/steganography.
Not For Infrequent Users
Each time i use this i type a bunch of great ideas, then proceed to irretrievably lose everything I types - zilch! The terrible part about this program is it is not prepared for people like me that has not memorized all the controls and don’t realize that after i create encrypted text and i think im cleaning up the readable text so i hit the broom, and EVERYTHING I JUST TYPED IS IRRETRIEVABLY GONE WITHOUT ANY WARNING, so its my fault that it doesnt have safeguards for human operators. So, not for me.

Happy but learning
Using iPad mini, I noticed that my password from yesterday’s session was still enabled when I went to decrypt the same text I was experimenting the night before. Maybe I didn’t exit my previous session properly. Otherwise quite pleased with the product. Will do some further investigation. I exited the session pressing the “Home” button which is typical iPad, iPod practice.

The concept of this app is awesome, I just can actually utilize it because when I go to decrypt something I CAN’T SCROLL UP TO READ IT! Would be a 5 star but as the functionality of the app is in operable, I will give it 2. Will change rating if the Devs. fix this soon.

I have been using this app for several years. I find it very useful for keeping passwords, bank details etc on my phone without worrying if the phone gets lost. I rarely write reviews but as this really useful app is really short of them I thought I would add my tuppence worth.
great - with some critical thoughts
Bruce Schneier newsletters made us all aware that security software can work flawlessly for years, look and feel good, and still be “snake oil” - not protecting your data if the attacker has unlimited access to your files, enough time and resources.
I cannot check whether the code implementation of PTE has any flaws, but I like the idea, UI and functionality. 5 stars for this. BUT ... if your data were critically important, or a question of life and death ... ?

Other than this, a detailed list of PRO features vs. light features would be nice. I couldn’t find it. If PRO is just a way to donate, just say so, I would happily contribute.

Trying out the lite version
I saw everyone raving about the pro version so I'm going to test out the lite version and gave it five stars based on the pro version reviews. I'll update after I review.
