should be called sell spot

This app is terrible, its not about swapping spaces, its about selling them.

Charging for your space on a public road sounds illegal and their thinly veiled “swap” gift is garbage.

TMI - Too much info for a free app

The app needs specific car info and credit card info just to find a free spot. I can see the car make and model/color.. why plate? Do without credit card for a trial or PayPal. Otherwise just another place worry about my data. Fix it so I can try it.. thanks

Hi! We appreciate your honest feedback! We value it because only that way people and businesses can grow! We are working on simplifying the sign up process (payment method). All information you provide is safely stored. We ask for bank account to be able to receive the money gift when someone arrives at your spot. And card info to be able to send money gift when someone gives you their spot. Thank you again for your feedback! We are working on it.

Sketched Out by Requested Financial Info

This app could be so great, and I LOVE the concept.

However, this app requests you put your credit card on file in order (to send gifts) and asks for your bank account info (so you can receive gifts). There is no way to do this via Venmo, PayPal, or ApplePay. Therefore, you are forced to trust that the developers of this app are keep your financial data safe from hackers and data breaches, and I have no reason to believe that they are able to do so.

Good concept, not going to give you my bank and card info

Would be cool if I could use the app a few times as a proof of concept before I commit to giving my financial info to this random developer I know nothing about. Odds are I’ll never actually end up using the product and to be honest I don’t really know why I would ever send someone a gift for giving me a street parking spot. Just sounds like it adds more of a headache and complication to street parking in NYC. And it just seems like a flimsy excuse for the developer to get your financials. Also leaves me wondering how exactly this app is making money. If not selling your financials, I guess they sell your location data?

Hello and thanks for your review and feedback. On the next update everyone would be able to use the app without putting their bank account information. If users want to be able to receive money, they’ll enter the bank account information to be able to receive it. Actually there is a lot of people that would send money to find parking spots. ParkSwap (the developer) makes money from each transaction (%). We don’t sell your information nor give it to anyone. You could find it on our privacy policy.

Weird

It looks like a good concept, but I do not see why the app needs both my card information and my bank account information, seems a bit sketchy to me, and could be a reason lots of people won’t want to join.

We are more than glad you used ParkSwap. The app needs your bank account information for you to be able to receive the gift (money) others will send you when you provide them with your parking spot. The app also needs your card information for you to be able to send a gift (money) to others when they provide their parking spots to you. Thanks again for taking your time and writing a review.

Needs an update

A good concept, although I have seen it before. That doesn’t matter, but first there needs to be an option for 16 or at least 17 year olds because they have licences and cars too. Second a tutorial or instructions would be helpful, like how to earn money and how it all works. I will change my review when these things change.

Excellent app!

At the beginning when I downloaded the app there wasn’t a lot of people around my neighborhood, after a few weeks, people started using it and parking has never been an issue anymore. I hope people use it everywhere and I’m going to recommend it to everyone I see!
