Used to be great but now it crashes and has ads with a subscription to remove them
Great before Atlantic forced sponsored propaganda placement
Particle was truly great, then accepted money from The Atlantic and now forces their very non neutral propaganda into forced placement that can not be skipped. Shameful missed opportunity to be useful without any stupid American group bias.
Great news app for busy folks
A very well thought out news app. Pulls from many sources and summarizes into a news “story” that you can quickly read, or if you want more you can easily click through to any of the full article sources. I like that this company works with the news outlets, highlighting specific stories from some of them and placing them in your feed, as well as making it easy to click through to the news outlet’s website directly to read the full article.

Background Audio Play
Is it just me, or this app can't play audio in the background? Not really useful as a news app

This is the best news app by a mile. Great interface, topic and preference tweaks, etc. I’d pay for this one.
Was decent
Was decent but now practically unusable as every time I stop to read something, it scrolls and tells me good afternoon or good morning. Very frustrating

Why is my feed jittery and jumping? Did no one test with more than one news source ?
it's ok
it does quite a number of cool thugs, but my initial enthusiasm was checked by the fact that it will only show 11 stories a day in "my news" section. to read more, i have to "explore." what's the point of spending time setting it up how i want only for the company to only allow me a teensy bit of the stuff i actually want? it should give me at least 50 stories. not sure if i'm gonna keep it because every app on a device is another small hit to the battery and another chance for a software conflict.
so dumb to limit the stuff i actually want to a paltry 11 stories. kinda removes the whole point of the app, eh?

Too much focus on America
I would like mostly UK national and local news, with a smattering of global news. Not everyone is obsessed with America.
Otherwise, a handsome, very well designed, smart news aggregator.

Maybe the best news app on iOS
This app is fantastic for offering local and global news swiftly and with multiple angles to reduce bias and improve truthful reporting. Indispensable!
Decreased in Performance and Quality
As much as I enjoy the app, it somewhat decreased in performance and Quality after the app introduced the subscription service. Even though, I am a subscriber user, the App lacks performance and quality updates.
1. The Recent/History Tab is cluttered with 'New Stories' instead of user activity history.
2. Searching for news, articles, headlines is slow, unreliable, and doesn't search accurately of news, even though the app supposed to have data of world events.
3. The app is heavily indexed US news sources and not as much other countries, which somewhat defeats the purpose of unbiased news reporting and coverage.
4. Lastly, not related to the news, but the daily crossword became so irritating to play for months now, as it is very buggy, random invisible letters, checking for mistakes and wrong letters doesn't get highlighted correctly.

Amazingly good but dumb
It’s a great app really , I’ve been looking for something that summarizes the news like this and all the Ai features are implemented very well
Just what ruins it for me is the pain of telling what app what I like and what I don’t, simply clicking not interested on a Baseball headline will not only reduce baseball but sports entirely and maybe other categories while you like a lot of these other categories and just soccer
Same for Neurology for example when you simply click less on an immunology heavy headline it reduces the entire MEDICAL ! content
