I liked the newsreader on Comet, but when it went away I tried Particle. Love it!

Immediately wants you to create an account to access the normal BS news you can get anywhere else without having to do so. Nah, instantly uninstalled.

Le genre d'application qui vous envoie des notifications parce qu'un chat est bloqué dans un arbre (C'est un événement indispensable à connaître). Puis vous push des mails quand vous avez supprimé l'application. Au vu des 2 premières pratiques, je prie pour qu'ils n'aient pas revendu mes données à des tiers. Fuyez.

Great but please expand coverage!!
The app is great - easy to use, good design, makes it super easy to get across things. The preference settings are awesome. But please increase coverage already to other regions!! Would give five stars if the coverage wasn’t so focused on US only

Ich persönlich finde die Idee der App sehr gut, Daily News, immer auf den neuesten Stand, Inhaltspräferenzen…
Was mich nervt ist, dass die App sehr langsam läuft, die Artikel nicht richtig laden, die Übersetzung teilweise eine halbe Minute lädt und die Übersichtlichkeit in der App gehört angepasst.

Better than most news apps but has a lot of unnecessary noise
I really wanted to love this application and frankly it’s better than most. After using it for several months, I’m moving onto a different one.
Pros:
- It’s a beautiful, well executed application and it threads the same story from contrasting sources in a helpful way
- It updates fairly close to real time and does a good job at prioritizing more important stories up front
Cons:
- No control over news sources and constantly fed uninterested editorials
- It’s not uncommon to have some seriously biased headlines or photos for suggested stories
- it’s local targeting is only partially good as while I do get some local content, I get random locales across the country
- No way to turn off the noisy ‘social’ features and every news story becomes a comment box and Q&A for opinions

Customizing preferred topics does nothing
Despite spending a considerable amount of time customizing the news categories and topics I’m interested in, and specifying what topics I’m completely uninterested in, I constantly am shown topics I’ve chosen not to see. For instance, sports or celebrity news…chose to not see any of this yet get it all the time in large quantities too.
These issues remain despite closing out of the app and loading it back up.

Hab mich von Social Media gelöst und informiere mich jetzt mit dieser App, über was auch immer in der Welt abgeht. Allerdings spreche ich Deutsch und lerne Englisch. Ein deshalb nützliches Feature meiner Meinung nach wäre deshalb, dass man Artikel auf bedarf übersetzen lässt. Z.B. durch einen Button neben dem "Post a comment" button

Great before Atlantic forced sponsored propaganda placement
Particle was truly great, then accepted money from The Atlantic and now forces their very non neutral propaganda into forced placement that can not be skipped. Shameful missed opportunity to be useful without any stupid American group bias.
Great news app for busy folks
A very well thought out news app. Pulls from many sources and summarizes into a news “story” that you can quickly read, or if you want more you can easily click through to any of the full article sources. I like that this company works with the news outlets, highlighting specific stories from some of them and placing them in your feed, as well as making it easy to click through to the news outlet’s website directly to read the full article.

Limited Customisation
A good aggregator, but you are overloaded with news on topics, geographies, domains you don’t want. Developers claim customisation but don’t take feedback at story or topic level as one uses the product. So there is precious little you can do except sit back and enjoy the overload. If this can be addressed, Particle has an opportunity to become good. For now Ground News paid will be a better option.

Is it just me, or this app can't play audio in the background? Not really useful as a news app

This is the best news app by a mile. Great interface, topic and preference tweaks, etc. I’d pay for this one.
Was decent
Was decent but now practically unusable as every time I stop to read something, it scrolls and tells me good afternoon or good morning. Very frustrating

Why is my feed jittery and jumping? Did no one test with more than one news source ?
