Reset needs fixing
The app needs a better reset option. Pressing reset only set the timer back to zero. It doesn’t allow me to switch in case I hit the wrong button.
Need other options
Please add options for other minhagim for fleishig. Not everyone holds 6 hours.

I pressed start nearly 3 hrs ago and I just opened the app to check how much time went by and it beeped alerting 6hrs went by.

i honestly do LOVE this app. However I know that there are allot of people incluing my friens and family who only wait 3 hours after meat because that is their minhag. some people wait into the 6th hour an some wait 5 an a half. so if more options for waiting after meat coul be ae- that woul be great. i'm sure you woul get a lot ore users

… for adding more waiting options for meat. My family's minhag is 3 hours. To me, it's easy to wait an hour after dairy. What I really need the ParveOMeter for is waiting after meat. I'd also like to point out that some people wait longer than an hour after hard cheeses. I'm giving you three stars for the effort to make this app (it's beautiful), but I don't really have a use for it until you add more options to fleish.

This app is very useful but needs an option for 3 hours. Not everyone has the minhag to wait 6 hours.
Great gadget for fun
Of course it's not too hard to count 6 hours but this is a fun app to impress your religious friends. I guess there is no way to have Shabbos mode.
Interpreting Exodus 23:19
As a believer in the meschiach I think I just see things differently.
"The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk." -Exodus 23:19
As the Lord is telling his people of how we shall be different than the previous inhabitants of the land of promise, how we should not afflict the widow or the fatherless, how we should not keep the garment of the poor in pledge overnight, how we must not circulate false rumors, or follow the crowd in doing evil, or repress the foreigner "because you were foreigners in the land of Egypt" he takes a moment to describe the laws of the sabbath.
In these laws of the sabbath the holy people are to be truly different than those around them who sought to manipulate the favor of false gods through their vile machinations. But the holy people are set apart. Far from those who hope by killing their babies to entice the yearly fertile favors of baal, the holy people through their trust in the providence of God are to refrain from even tilling the land for a whole year. The Lord, he is so good, he will provide for our needs according to his glorious riches.
At the end of this section, God explains about the feasts. Such passionate care from our savior must result in deep adoration. And in fact God commands to this end that no one should come without an offering in praise to our great God.
It is at the end of this section about the feasts when describing that the holy people must lift up heartfelt praise with their first fruits, that this command not to boil the young goat in its mother's milk is given. Now the commands to keep the sabbaths and to keep the feasts are commands for the people to do things in their proper seasons as appointed by God as is fitting for those who trust the Lord. And so this command also heightens this affect for there is an unseemly impropriety in it - for it is vulgar to cook a child in the milk of the mother which should have weaned it to life.
More than this the next section goes on to describe the protection provided by the angel of the Lord, and how he will guide and care for the people. And we are told by the commentaries that it was a custom of the pagan cultures of that day to do this wicked thing and then sprinkle the milk upon their fields to bless them. Quite to the contrary the care for God's people is to be provided by the hesed of the Lord's covenant and by his own angel, not by superstitious practices.
This text is about trust in the one who sets us apart from those who are godless. The Deut. 14 passage makes this even more clear when it contrast this commandment with the allowance for selling of animals found dead to foreigners. This text is about the holiness of God's people that comes from trust in his provision and providence.
To interpret this passage as a commandment to avoid mixing any meat with any dairy because it "creates an undesirable spiritual energy" is to miss the whole point of this passage. This passage seeks to condemn those who seek a superstitious holiness apart from trust in the one true God, but by taking the interpretation as presented by some, zealously guarding against eating any meat and dairy together becomes a superstition in itself. How shall we please our God? Shall the things we eat ever bring holiness? What we eat passes through our bodies and is eliminated from us. But what comes out of our mouths, that is what makes us unclean. For from our mouth comes all forms of envy, and pride, anger, lust and murder which is pent up in our hearts.
This passage teaches us about those things which externally separate God's holy people from the rest of the nations, the physical ways in which the holy one of Israel provided for his faithful followers as they trusted him in the epic saga of entering into the holy land. And it is more than that. This beautiful text about what constitutes holiness points beyond the kosher to the one who will redefine holiness. For it begins to plant the seeds of a new way of looking at holiness, not in what one does, but a holiness that comes from trust, from faith in him who provides. For we know that holiness must come in this way. For so it was said of Abraham, he believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness. And so here we find that those who believe God, who refuse to act as the pagans do, who trust God to provide for them by taking a sabbatical from their labors, who joyously worship in all the feasts of Israel, who gladly give the first fruits of their increase, and who refuse to manipulate God by the vile and wicked rituals of those around them but instead trust God to be the bountiful supply of their provisions, who put the power of their own holiness not in the mechanics of their own doings but in faith in the savior, the Joshua who will win their way into the holy land, these are those who please the Lord. There is a redeemer of the daughter of Zion who provides for her holiness.

This app is useful but I wait 3 hours and it only gives the option of six hours. You should be able to type in how much time between each you wait. I wait 15 minutes between dairy and meat and 3 hourse between meat and milk. It has nothing to do how religious you are. It's where your family is from and what minhag they follow.

Create the option to have 3 hours from meat to milk. There are those who wait 3 hours.
It works but...
Give us a choice on how long to wait between meat & milk - I wait three hours, others wait four - it's not cookie-cutter for six! I rarely use it because it doesn't conform to my observance.

I thing that it's a BIG zchus to make such a app.
6 hours between milk and meaat not universal
There should be an option to change the waiting time between milk and meat to comply with the various customs, eg 5 and a half hours, 5 and a bit hours, 3 hours (German custom and that of many Jews in the US and UK), and 1 hour (Dutch custom).

I think this is a great idea for an iPhone app. I've wanted something like this for a long time. The only problem is that I wait 3 hours after eating meat. The app doesn't give you that option. Also, the sounds are loud and kind of annoying. An option to turn them off would be really great. Almost there!!! I won't use this app for now, but when you guys add the option to change the period after eating meat, then I'm back!!
