Great VPN app

Using this in combination with Unifi routers to connect to my home network quickly.

Troubles with DNS and WireGuard

I’ve been trying to use NextDNS over HTTPS with a ProtonVPN WireGuard config with DNS routed through the VPN tunnel. It doesn’t seem to work correctly with this combination. It successfully connects and shows up/down traffic in the Passepartout app, but nothing on the device can use the network.

Response from developer

It is clearly stated in the “REQUIRES AN IN-APP PURCHASE” list and in the TV store description. Thanks, Davide

Please add Shortcut support for server address editing

Great app. Please add Shortcut support for editing the server address in a profile.

My home VPN server IP can change, and DDNS is not always reliable because updates can take time to show up. I can get the new IP on iOS right away, but changing it manually in the app takes too many taps.

This would make reconnecting much easier.

Great app

I’m a big fan of this app. You should know that many of the basic Wireguard features are behind a paywall in the app when others offer those for free as it’s part of the spec.

Other than that I see two minor issues.

1. app is present on the share sheet favorites list with no way to remove

2. Report an issue in-app doesn’t work. Says device is not configured to send e-mails.

Overall, the app is well-made. It’s a bit too pricey to lock standard features behind a paywall of $25, but I don’t know what else to say about that.

Edit: this dude gets a 5 star review from a relatively happy customer and then proceeds to lie 🤣

On-demand activation for WireGuard is behind the paywall. That is free in the official app. Routing is behind a paywall. That is free in the official app. Just two examples.

Overall a great app

Overall this app does exactly what I need; a vpn with custom DNS which I use on my Apple TV and other devices.

The only issue I have is the Apple TV app sometimes ‘forgets’ I have paid for premium and falsely says it is still connected to the VPN.

I have raised this with support on Reddit and feel the concerns were not taken seriously enough although it was acknowledged as a known error.

Fixing this issue will make it a 5 star review.

Forced to pay twice to use this app on AppleTV

THIS SHOULD NOT BE LISTED AS A PAID APP ONTHE APPLE TV APPSTORE IF IT DOES NOT WORK WITHOUT FURTHER PAYMENT!

This app should be listed for free on the Apple TV AppStore, having to pay one to download the app and the having to pay 25 times more to actually get it to work is deceptive.

Just Works

Great App! Does exactly what it says on the tin, have been using this for quite a while now and haven’t had any issues. Thank you!

Module configuration is blank

The new ver introduced a bug that the WireGuard and On-demand modules went blank. The publisher didn’t do proper tests.

Deceptive pricing! Ransomware!

I purchased this app for $0.99 because I wanted to set up trusted wifi networks so my VPN would automatically turn off at home and on everywhere else. That’s the entire reason I bought it.

After spending a significant amount of time setting everything up — generating WireGuard keys, downloading config files, importing them into the app — I finally found the On Demand feature I needed, only to discover it’s locked behind an additional $79.99 paywall. The core feature. The reason the app exists.
This is ransomware behavior: get someone in the door for $0.99, make them invest significant time configuring everything, and then hold the useful feature hostage behind an enormous additional charge. Without On Demand, this app does nothing you can’t do for free with your VPN provider’s own app.

What makes it worse is the complete lack of pricing transparency. Their FAQ — which is extensive — does not mention the cost of paid features anywhere. Not once. If you’re confident in your pricing, you publish it. Hiding it is a choice, and it reflects a lack of candor that I find troubling in an app whose entire pitch is about privacy and trust.

I’m requesting a refund and would encourage others to look elsewhere.

OpenVPN profile settings and credentials fields not visible in Modules section

Hello, thank you for your great app.

I have an issue in the Modules section. When I add an OpenVPN profile, the OpenVPN settings do not appear, and there is also no option to enter username and password (credentials).

Because of this, the profile cannot be configured correctly.

Please check if this is a bug or a missing UI element.

Thank you

App validation needs correction

I have been using the app for a while now on my Apple TV and really like how it performs. The only problem comes when switching profiles. Unlike any other app you download or purchase from the App Store this one validates purchases by the profiles App Store account instead of the default users account. This results in the vpn being disabled on the Apple TV for every other user except for the one that has purchased the ability to use it with the Apple TV. I would gladly change my review to 5* if they would correct the purchase validation issue so that it is device level instead of user level like every other app I have ever purchased from the App Store.
