About
A vintage telephone switchboard, a grid of brass jacks, and one clean way to wire it.
Patch is a daily connect-the-callers puzzle. Colored caller pairs sit in jacks on a small board, and your job as operator is to drag a jewel-colored cord from each jack to its partner. But there's a catch: the cords may not cross or share a socket, and when you're done every single jack on the board must be covered. It's a flow puzzle that has to fill the whole board.
Every daily is built solution-first: the board is carved into a set of non-crossing cord paths that tile the grid, and only then are the path ends turned into caller jacks. Because a complete wiring already exists by construction, the board is ALWAYS solvable — and par is the number of caller pairs, one clean cord each. Wire it in par and the day logs under par.
There is exactly one board a day, the same for everyone, with a spoiler-free share card and a streak to protect. Once today's board is cleared, work as many random practice boards as you like.
• A fresh hand-generated switchboard every day, the same for everyone
• Drag jewel cords between brass jacks; no crossing, no sharing a socket
• Fill every jack — a flow puzzle that must tile the whole board
• Generation-first: every board is provably solvable, with a real par
• Difficulty ramps 5×5 early week to a dense 6×6 by the weekend
• Streaks, an operator's log of your record, and a spoiler-free share card
• Endless random practice boards after the daily
• Fully offline, no account, nothing collected
Work the board.
