Get it

I left my iPad at work. Good thing I have my phone to deliver beats and midi clock to my eurorack.

Patterning 2 where art though? I only see your big $40 brother and free step child?

I guess it was about a year that I had Patterning 2 before Patterning 3 was out and all updates for 2 went legacy. There are things that my fellow Washington people did to mitigate this little bit of “not getting what you paid for and feeling like $39.99 for Patterning 3 is is way different than $9.99 for Patterning 2” … like there better be an air fryer or a free Spotify sub and not just the iPhone version to run on your iPad (pro - it’s awkward and feels weird, although the midi functioning is awesome - I guess it just feels like I’ve been ripped off for $39.99 - $9.99 =$30.00… and that’s a lot of app purchasing power that could be spent in many ways.

Clever implementation, occasionally crash’s

Really nice concept, well executed, great touch interface. Cons, bit clunky getting at the advanced features, shame it only had one kit, and crashes from time to time

Ads are a no go.

I opened this app 3 times after redownloading it to be greeted by ads. I won’t be using it again or purchasing other apps by this developer.

Great app

Love having this on the phone. Just wish it had similar features to the iPad version! Ability to mute/solo tracks and a mix page would be fab. Would happily pay full price to do this..

No Support

Paid for this app. I in-app support points to a dead link Cannot change time signatures, stuck on a 4/4 pattern. Thing feels like a piece of garbage and the drum sounds are petty bad on top of that.

Fun app, but needs an undo button

I see it’s been a long time since you showed this app any love, I know you’re working in patterning 3. But if you could add an undo button, and also a way to isolate the audio of individual tracks, this app would be perfect

Perfection (... almost)

Patterning is a unique, incredibly inventive and elaborate music device. I love the Ipad version, and this one too - although the various colours are missing and I cannot find the mute and erase functions. But it’s so much inspiring, don’t miss it!

iPhone: love patterning and all the great free kits.

First off- it’s a drum sampler with unique controls, no auv3, and zipped audio exports (lol) but still- it’s free and a blast to play with. patterning 2 on iPad is better, but it’s also not free. Have an iPhone? Download patterning, draw various circles for each drum part, click on pencil, tweak parameters the same way, by filling each drum part- the more color you paint, the more Aggro the sound, less color you paint, the duller it gets. Now hit randomize!!!!!!!!!

My favorite drum controller

I love this UI. It’s inspired creativity and promotes velocity variation which adds to a natural vibe. I am using it wirelessly with my macbook for composition. This means I have the wolds best controller sending midi into my daw, driving my favorite drum vsts.

So fun

This approach to a drum machine is so natural and fun. Great job developers

Great app to get a quick idea down, but…

It would be amazing to have another couple of bars to work with, or at least one more bar. I could imagine there being a line of page numbers - 1,2,3,4 that you can go through and edit individually, and then when you press play it cycles through them in order. Maybe this is a feature on the IPad version? Either way it would be cool to have this and be able to create more varied loops.

Locks up on iPad Pro

This seems like a great idea, but repeatedly locked up on my 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9".

Even force quitting the app and restarting did not fix it.

dope app

awesome app wish the probability would expand to other parameters maybe also if the notes could go to 32 otherwise i love this app no complaints

REQUEST

32 step support would make this an everyday tool.

Please add 32+ step support for those who like going crazy

to make it more organization more accessible, I’d separate even fractions of steps by “page” maybe for the iphone version.
For ipad, im pretty sure 32 steps can be easily visable

Bombshell - mind blown

In two days I’ve learned more about making dynamic beats than in a year of struggling. Not only is this app an amazing tool for making high quality beats you will happen across beautiful little accidents that you can incorporate into your regular beat making process, whether it be on hardware or a DAW.

There is plenty more I could say but yeah. Amazing.

Best iOS drum machine I’ve found so far. Super quick intuitive improvisational flow

Immediately intuitive fun and deep quick performance

Disappointing

I paid for this app because there was no demo. The features seem impressive at first glance but due to the fact that there is a 16 step limit to patterns you can’t build loops up. Really a design flaw.

If you want to put 8th notes or 16th notes in a pattern then you will be limited only 16 steps of 8th notes or whatever increment you chose. This is problematic and you can only begin to understand how limiting it is once you begin to build patterns.

For example: If you set your kick pattern to 8th notes and your hihat pattern to 16th notes, your hihat pattern will play through twice before a single bar has passed. So you can really only design 2 beats of your bar and it will just repeat itself to finish out the bar.

Auv3

Auv3 will be the reference, and inter app will soon disappear, the app will be discontinued?

So far so good

Are there any acoustic regular sounding drum kits ( not electronic) all the one I have tried are all hip hop digital sounding kits.Just looking for a standard rock drum kit sound
