What an Awesome Idea.

Let’s face it, stopping and restarting your recording is so last century. If you’ve ever fumbled around trying to piece together clips like a mad scientist stitching together a video Frankenstein, this app is here to save your sanity.

Ok, so here is the genius part: instead of awkwardly pausing your recording and praying to the editing gods that you can line things up later, this app lets you ‘pause’ the action and seamlessly continue as a new clip. It’s like having a video wizard in your pocket, sprinkling organization and efficiency on your footage.

“But why should I care?” you ask, raising a skeptical eyebrow. Let me break it down for you: Imagine you’re recording something epic—maybe it’s a cooking tutorial, a vlog, or your cat’s daily shenanigans. Suddenly, life happens. You need to stop. But when you’re ready to resume, do you really want to hunt through endless footage to figure out where to splice? Of course not! This app does the dirty work for you, automatically segmenting your video so you can skip the agony of manual editing and jump straight to the fun part: creating your masterpiece.

Honestly, this clever little app has made my life a whole lot easier. And as if that wasn’t enough, I reached out to the developers with a few ideas (because who doesn’t like sharing their two cents?), and they got back to me faster than I could say, “video editing genius.” They were genuinely excited and proud of their creation, and their enthusiasm shone through in their response.

So, if you’re tired of the recording and editing struggle, do yourself a favor and grab this app. Your future self, and your perfectly timed video clips, will thank you.

Mimi movie shooter!

This app does a great job in pausing (hence it’s title) taking videos and continuing the video all In the same shoot! And the last frame overlay button is great for realigning up the last shot for a continuation sequence! Some minor adjustments could be made for a better experience but overall a great app!

It’s a really awesome app!

I love the app and all, but what’s the point of it when there is no social media?

You should be able to show people your fabulous creations! Overall, it’s basically the best pausing video app ever made. I really enjoyed it!

Complete fraud!!!!

It’s a pause button, BUT IT DOES NOT PAUSE!!! Hitting pause and restarting simply creates new videos…doesn’t pick up where you left off. Horrible!!!

Response from developer

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced while using Pause Camera. The Pause feature works by creating separate clips that are later combined into a single video. We understand this might be confusing at first, but it is essential for the app's functionality. To pick up where you left off, you can simply use the Trim feature to delete the unwanted clips and continue editing the ones you want to keep. We hope this explanation helps you to use Pause Camera more effectively and that you give it another try.

Fraud. Does not Pause at all!

This app is called Pause. Read the description in the App Store. It says this app gives you the ability to pause and resume video recordings. It brags that it gives you the ability to pause a recording, and then continue it.
This is so blatantly untrue it is almost painful. I don’t know why Apple allows this fraud to continue. When you press the pause button, the recording stops. If you press the pause button again a new recording starts. There is no continuing the existing recording. I contacted the developers, and they told me that I could simply swipe the screen and look at the previous recordings and then splice them all together. This is not a pause recorder. This is an individual segment recorder such as we already have. Then one has to splice or merge the video fragments. I did not want a video splicer or merger, I wanted a pause and continue recorder. That is what the name says. This app specifically does not do this. When I contacted the developers, they proudly admitted that indeed it did not do that but told me that I could just take the different segments and merge them together. I did not buy a merging program, I bought a Pause program, and I was cheated. This is not a pause app . This is a fraud. If you want a pause movie app, DO NOT GET THIS ONE. THIS DOES NOT WORK AS CLAIMED.
Apple, why do you allow this? Somebody owes a lot of refunds to anyone who has bought this fraud.

Response from developer

Dear Roberttjay, We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with our Pause Camera app. We apologize for any confusion our app may have caused. The Pause Camera - Video Editor app provides you with a camera that allows you to start a recording for each project and pause it, then continue where you left off. You can switch between projects and create new segments for each video. There's even a Ghost mode that lets you preview the last frame of the video before continuing, so you can seamlessly continue recording.Furthermore, you can trigger and pause all of your videos from your Apple Watch. Normally, when recording with an iPhone camera, you cannot pause the video. However, with Pause Camera, you can pause the recording, and we provide you with the ability to edit or delete segments of the recording when you pause it. When you press the pause button, we flag the video stream, and when you press the resume button, we add the paused stream to the existing video. After you complete your video project and have paused and resumed many times, you can send your work as a SINGLE VIDEO to your iPhone gallery or social media accounts. We don't understand why you're so angry since our app allows you to pause and resume video recordings, but shows them in segments. The purpose of this is to provide you with the ability to edit or remove segments of the video that you don't want to include in the final project. We're sorry if this feature has caused you any frustration, and we'd like to help you if you tell us what problem you're experiencing.
