Paving Yield Log replaces the clipboard and the end-of-shift Excel sheet that every paving crew runs today. Built for foremen on the mat, on a phone, with gloves on. THE CORE LOOP Every truck pulls up. You log it. The app does the math while you walk back to the screed. — Truck #, ticket #, time, net tons, station start, station end, mat width, plan depth, mat temp. — Live SY, plan tons, yield %, linear feet. — Loads more than 5% off plan turn red on the list and on the live yield panel. Catch a thin screed before the inspector does. DRIFT COACH Three same-direction red flags in a row and a banner appears above the load list — "3 loads under yield in a row, walk sta 14+50 before the next truck dumps." Anchored at the latest start station, it tells you exactly where the screed is running off, while there's still time to walk it. BEFORE THE TRUCK DUMPS Net tons plus mat width plus plan depth equals an expected end station — the app shows it on the live yield panel before the truck has finished pulling. Walk to the number. Once you confirm the actual end station, yield % takes over. PLAN TONNAGE FROM A SEGMENT When you create a job, you can derive the plan tonnage from a segment instead of typing it in: sta start, sta end, width, depth. The app multiplies through the chosen mix density, shows the result, and offers it for the plan field. Override if the bid says different. RUNNING TOTALS, ALL DAY The home screen pins your shift totals: tons received today, square yards paved, SY-weighted average yield against the on-order tonnage, and tons remaining on the order so you know how much is still coming. Numbers update truck by truck. PHOTO ATTACH PER LOAD Snap the scale ticket, the screed setting, the joint that troubled you. The image stays with the truckload — searchable in the row, embedded in the PDF report, evidence at audit time. DELIVERY TEMPERATURE TIMELINE Every truck logs the mix temperature at the screed. The chart shows those readings across the shift, against the placement window. Spot cold deliveries before they hit the mat, document plant drift, and have a defensible answer when QC asks "what was truck 219 reading at 7:38?" TWO-TAP SHIFT REPORT End of shift, two taps: — PDF — WisDOT-style yield-check report with the column order Wisconsin DOT inspectors expect (Sta from / Sta to / Width / Depth / Net / Plan / Yield / Drift), foreman and inspector signature lines, totals row, and a photo appendix when loads have ticket photos attached. — CSV — open in Excel, paste into the WisDOT submittal, drop into your DOT pipeline. HOME SCREEN WIDGET Today's tons and yield % at a glance. Small, medium, lock-screen sizes. No need to launch the app to know where the day is. US AND METRIC UNITS Toggle between US units ("Sta 12+50", lb, °F, in, ft, SY, ton) and metric ("Station 1+250", kg, °C, cm, m, m², t) in Settings. Storage is always SI underneath, so switching never drifts the numbers. OFFLINE-FIRST, BY DESIGN Mainline paving happens with no cell signal. Everything stays on your phone — no account, no cloud, no analytics. Your scale tickets stay yours. WHAT IT IS NOT Not estimating, not invoicing, not crew tracking. It is one thing, done right: yield checks per truckload using a 110 lb/SY/inch default spread rate, with unit tests anchored on the worked examples from Wisconsin DOT's published yield-check sheet.
