About

Pawdex is a living field guide for the animals you already walk past. Spot a bird, a dog on your street, a fish in clear water, or a rabbit in the verge. Point your camera from a safe distance, Pawdex names the species on your phone, offline, and turns the encounter into a collectible card. WHAT YOU GET • On-device identification across tens of thousands of species no photo upload required to name an animal • Creature cards with type, sourced stats, a signature ability, and rarity based on real conservation status • Neighbors - tag individual animals and recognise them again on later visits • A trail dashboard with species found, steps, and distance walked • Breed suggestions for dogs and cats you can confirm or correct yourself BUILT TO BE HONEST Stats cite real sources when we have them, and say estimated when we don’t. Rarity follows IUCN status rather than invented scarcity. Corrections you make stay on your phone and improve identification for you. WILDLIFE FIRST Always keep your distance. Never approach, handle, or feed a wild animal to get a photograph. Pawdex is for noticing not disturbing. Coming from the trail. Recognition runs on your iPhone.

Better identification, especially for insects and pets. • Species naming now uses BioCLIP 2.5 on your iPhone. • Breed suggestions for dogs and cats are more reliable • Every card now has field notes, and About text when we have a source • Type, vitality, and might on cards are consistent instead of blank or lopsided Recognition still runs on-device. Keep your distance from wild animals.
