About

Paws for Patients is a native application for volunteer dog handlers at St. Anthony's North Campus in Westminster, Colorado. The patients will scan a QR code that is in their room. Upon scanning the QR code the patient will be brought to a web page where they can fill out a form to opt in to have the therapy dogs visit them. The list resets every night so that patients who are discharged are no longer on the list and the patients who are admitted can have an opportunity to have a visit with the therapy dogs. In the event that there are no patients who have scanned the app will let the volunteer know that there are no patients requesting visits at that time. Each volunteer is run through a screening process prior and will have to be approved by an admin to use this application. The patient's names are formatted in a HIPAA-compliant way and are not stored for more than 24 hours.

The UI has been updated with a cleaner look and feel. I also added a slide gesture on the visits page to update the visits list.
