I am sorry to hear that you are having troubles with the app’s widget. Not sure why you experience this problem, as you should be able to adjust the colours in the app’s Settings view and it should update the widget after a refresh, which can take a moment. Maybe try reinstalling the app and the widget. Please note that the colour scheme only apply to the Home Screen widgets and not to the legacy widgets in the Today view. / Martin, developer
