Bugs/glitching

It has glitching issues and when I start a walk and somehow it gets lost then I try to start another one and it just says you have one currently going please discard or end it. But there’s nowhere to end it.

Response from developer

Thanks for the note. If you're hitting an issue starting or ending a walk, send us an email at support@pawshareapp.com with your PawShare account username and we'll get it sorted for you.

It’s okay.

It’s a good concept and nice that you get paid to walk your dog but, there’s no way to verify if you actually walked the dog or just took your phone for a drive. At 12:15am of a new week someone already had 20 miles. Impossible. I wish there was a way to report people that are suspicious/cheating.

It also glitches and won’t let me stop a walk sometimes or says please stop current walk but there’s no current walk. It just didn’t track my half mile walk because it couldn’t end.

Response from developer

Hello - The walk you're describing was already caught and removed. I appreciate you looking out for the genuine dog owners who are here to give their dogs healthy, happy lives. That's exactly the right thing to care about. But unfortunately, before this review was submitted, it had already been handled. The 20-mile walk logged around 12:15am on August 24th was recorded at vehicle speed. It was automatically flagged and removed before 8am EST that same morning. It never counted toward rewards. The leaderboard you see mid-week does not determine payouts. We track speed at every GPS point, so any walk that goes above a set speed is flagged automatically. We also flag impossible pace, GPS jumps between distant points, step counts that don't match distance, and distances no dog could realistically walk. Every flagged walk is reviewed, and anything that isn't a genuine on-foot walk is removed. A cheated walk can briefly appear on the board before it's caught, which is what you saw. It is always removed before the week closes. On top of the automated checks, I personally review every walk at the end of each week before any rewards are paid. There are also report options in the app if you spot something that looks off.

We love it!

We’ve been using Pawshare for several months now and we love it. The training tips have been helpful with our puppy. We really enjoy competing with other dogs in pawdown battles. Tracking our walks and streaks has been awesome. The developer is very active at constantly improving the app. Highly recommend!

Walk Temperature Inaccurate

The app is displaying an extreme heat warning of 104 when the actual temperature was just over 80.

Response from developer

Thanks for flagging this, and we're sorry for the confusion! This was caused by a bug pulling weather data from a previous location instead of your current one. It has been resolved, and we've removed the weather display from the walk screen in the latest update. We also confirmed that no walks flagged by the incorrect temperature were affected, so every valid walk still counted toward rewards. Appreciate you taking the time to report it!

Buffer and lack of customization

Videos lose sound and buffer. iPhone 15 pro max.

To get the audio back I have to pause and unpause the video. Some videos just get hung up after a few seconds then I have to close the video and reopen it or try to close the app and restart from the beginning.

Events aren’t customizable, would love to add an event for took the dog outside, in the event he didn’t pee at least he had a chance to. Other random events would be helpful, if storage is a concern, maybe just give users the ability to add 5 custom events. Popular ones can be added to the list.

Response from developer

Hey, thank you so much for this review and sorry you had to deal with that buffering and audio issue! That's a frustrating experience and you deserved better. Great news: the fix is ready and will be live in the next update once approved by Apple in the next few hours! If you're still experiencing anything after updating, please reach out at kevin@pawshareapp.com and we'll get it sorted. The custom events idea is something we've been thinking about too and we'll be adding it to the roadmap. Really appreciate the honest review, it helps us build a better app.
