About

Paying with Coins and Bills (Canadian Currency) - This App helps the student to learn to count out the right dollars and cents so that he or she can put the exact amount of money into the juke box. Amusing animations are the student's reward for putting the correct cents and dollars into the juke box. This app requires the child to put the right amount of money into the juke box. If the amount is wrong, the child must start again. There will be no right/wrong tabulation at the end, because only correct answers are finally accepted. This approach follows ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) recommended procedure for teaching learning-disabled children. This setting screen appears when the user opens the app. The user can then select “CENTS" or “DOLLARS" or “CENTS AND DOLLARS". This will determine what kind of currency is stacked at the front of the platform for the next activity. Touch the button to choose which kind of currency to use. This app helps the student to learn to use cents and/or dollars to make a particular amount. A picture of (for instance) a clown appears on a platform next to a juke box. The computer voice and a line of text on the front of the platform say “To see the clown dance put (for instance) 73¢ in the juke box." There are stacks of cents and/or dollars on the platform in front of the clown. When the student Touches on one of the stacks a coin or bill from the top of that stack flies into the slot in the front of the juke box, and the display that shows the amount that has been put into the juke box changes to show the current value of the money that has been put into the juke box. When the juke box display reaches the correct value (73¢) the clown dances. If the student puts too much money into the juke box, the computer voice and the text on the front of the platform say “Oops! That is too much money. Let's try again." Settings Restart Touch this button to restart the app with the same character and the same amount of money. Next Touch this button to change to another character and another amount of money. Previous Touch this button to return to the previous character and another amount of money
